pincher man, you like to cause a hustle

well it just shows the mentality.....i dont think anyone actually slated the S3...unlike the audi boys

id just like to say the S3 is ok..not brilliant and fortunatly for me, ive been able to drive one over here on the autobahns and i wasnt to impressed.

my bud has one

and another friend acyually works at the local audi dealer here in germany....and they say the S3 and the 225 audi tt(which i was actually going to buy) they have the most problems with.

2 things the audi guys failed to notice though........

is200 = saloon = 6cylinder = NA

S3 = HATCH = 4 Cylinder = turbocharged

the S3 is lighter and 4 wheel drive..........dont compare the 2 fools

Germans vs Japs...

fair enuff the s3 wins hands down on "standard" power...

but its in a different power class for a start, as we already know...

just look at the styling though - Lexus is one beautiful car.

Whereas the S3 or any 3 series Audi is awful.

IMHO it looks like a VW golf been smacked up the R's. the interior is a joke,

you need a step ladder ot look out the side windows.

I guess they have to have more power as standard to make up for the lack in class and elegance?

Oh well each to their own... and as we all own Lexi let "Alan Partridge rule the world!"

:D

Did you see the Audi owner on "Right Car Wrong Car" last night? He wanted to change his S3, and settled for a TVR becuase it was the LOUDEST of the lot :sick:

Thats a good example of the Audi mentallity :D

I have just bought an IS200 SE Auto (last week) having owned a BMW 320 SE Auto for 4 years. I fancied a change from BMW.

I tend to keep any car I buy for this length of time, so I have to be absolutely sure I'm going to love it in years to come - hence my research is extensive and thorough.

The small executive market is competitive and there are many top motors. However the IS200 was the indisputable choice. It looks poised yet dignified and is fully loaded - so far I love it.

The Audi is bland with absolutely no road presence.....it’s just not a Lexus. The S3 is the car rich blokes buy for their hairdresser girlfriends. Had I wanted performance I'd have bought a hot hatch.

The Lexus is a different league.

OK Audi BOYS

1st you are just a bunch of tos*er who cant afford a Merc or BMW :yahoo::yahoo::yahoo:

2nd CARACTERE 007 you said you have seen a few IS200 for around 9K on a V plate

well the IS only cost £18600 where as your S3 cost £25000+ plus you NEED options and boy do you need options on audi :D

OH OH whats this a W reg S3 for 14K That cant be right :blush: can it

3rd INIGO keep taking the stuff you were taking the day you wrote you post about the SC and if it makes you that feel that good you should try viagra.

. ..... :withstupid:

4th The S3 is for people that can not afford a big fast car so they buy a smaller cars that are fast and there is nothing big in that.

5th your comments about luxury Toyotas , Toyota is the 14th richest company in the world so they must be doing somthing right dont you think.

6th does the word skoda mean anything to you guys ;)

Verdict Audi can but try but will never succeed remember it was lexus that set the bench mark for the luxury car and now it avaliable in the form of an IS to.

Yup - I couldn't resist it... posted a reply to them :P Funny, they refer to Lexus as luxury Toyota's. What Car refers to the A3 as an expensive Golf! And their recommended "Best Buy" A3/S3? Why the A3 1.6 5dr of course! LOL...

Yup, saw a couple of other pics of it - gorgeously understated, and a good way to keep them S3 children quiet! :P The real shame is that Lexus can't sell me one (....oh, and that I probably couldn't afford it even if they could!) :(

"S3 is for hair dresser…" LOL :P

Would enjoy to see an S3 driver pulling hard an IS200, especially in curves :)

Should be like "damed this car is a rear traction, how can I handle it?", and if the S3 driver resist a bit, take off the anti slippery.

Now seriously, an S3 is definitly not a sport car, much too heavy, and definitly not a real 4x4 as a Sub for example, most of the time it's a front traction, the rear traction only appears when things get tough.

As you said it, a S3 is just a Viagrad Golf :)

For real rock Audi affair, will choose a S4, S6 or an RS6 :)

Really? I am a ***** and I can't afford a Merc or a BMW...Hmmm :D

Can't you see this car v car thing is daft? You obviously wanted a Lexus so you bought a Lexus - I didn't cos I have a perception of them that is not that favourable or attractive to me? Hell I could be wrong. I don't (now) think Audi's are living up to be what I expected/wanted either!! Damm fast though :o Well, mine is.

A 400 odd brake Lexus make make me look twice though !! The SC430 looks funky too.

So what specs are they then ? I mean there's an IS200 and isn't there a 300 too? Whats the difference? And whats the big ones with the gold badges??

Oh dear, too much fun. And hell if you think the S3 boys are bad go have a look at scoobynet ;)
