What Do You Like Most About Your Ls400

Recommended Posts

I like the fact it aids me meeting interesting new people ( only thing is they seem to be all forecourt staff :winky:)

seriously though, mines an import and I always get questions about it,and asked if its a private plate they seem amazed that its not,ive drove quite a few cars in my 16 months ownership and nothing matches the ride quality and serenity of the celsior,ok,some parts can be expensive but thats another part of the fun, tracing parts on this site and from the states and suppliers for items not easily traced over here make it all part of the scene, bubbles can burst but at the moment everythings hunky dory.

Best £1500 quid ive ever spent.

the thread was inspired by the "things you never knew your car could do thread" on pistonheads,

with that in mind I do't want to wait a couple of years to find out some kewl features of the car, so any tips you lovely people can give would be useful!

I'm hopefully picking up a 93 ls400 this weekend, so I am interested to hear what people like about the car,

It can be anything :)

Silence

Almost total absence of vibration

Ease of driving

Build quality/Reliability

Acceleration (from about 20mph)

Sound system

Space

Had it three years and NEVER wish to return to an ordinary jam-jar.

Enjoy yours!

It has a built in subwoofer (mine still not blown after 16700 miles and 14 years).

It has an almost unused foot operated parking brake - Park is much easier.

brake pads so easy to change (not sarky - they really are)

It just goes supremely well - gets there effortlessly - and stops on a sixpence - time after time!

I could go on (the wife says I do but thats another story) but I wont!

Biggest problems ? The 'slot' in the rubber surround at the back of the bootlid gets full of crud, and the air intake at the bottom of the windscreen the same - not exactly showstoppers!

Just enjoy the best car you will (probably) ever own

Dave

I love how people get out of the way on the M1, this doesn't happen unless your car has real 'presence'

Also the sound, the V8 is an iron fist in a velvet glove :winky:

Boo Hoo!!! must be because mine has Toyota badges so they don't move out of the way on the M1,then I get 2 lorries overtaking for 10 miles on the A42!

The sound the seat makes as my arse hits the soft leather and reminds you you are in a car that been well built.

If I had a TV in it I would never go in the house as the seats are nice.

The rest is proven quailty. Good example is the weight of the ashtray when you take it out.
