Deciding To Buy Or Not!

Recommended Posts

Hi all, first time post here, after looking through the forum i cant decide to buy an IS 200 i'm looking at or not from a collegeue.

its a Vreg and i had a short test drive which went well, i will do a longer one though.

The point that puts me off is the 127,000 miles on the clock! the price is £3000, and i haven't haggled yet!!

can anyone advise me, is this milage too high, has it got another few years in it, will i have huge bills??

Many Thanks!!!

i think the whole milage thing is a bit of a mental thing....if the car has FSH, receipts etc then the likelyhood is, is that you will have no problems.

mines on 110k, and when i last took it to lexus for my self service the service bloke said the car still felt solid and as good as new.

as i said as long as its been wel looked after i wouldnt be too worried eventhough 127k does sound alot. i would also take into consideration how much your going to use it. if you drive lots of miles maybe you should look for a lower milage one.

I second that, I paid double that for a 2000x with less than half the mileage, and i'm very happy with mine, so £3k is darn good if its clean and tidy throughout, which model is it? S, SE or Sport?

Go on you know you want it :winky: to be honest 127K is not a lot of mileage for a car these days, especially if a lot of it is M'way. My other vehicle has done 178K and no problems at all. Well it is a Toyota. As long as it has been serviced regularly you should be O.K.

whether its 127k or 27k, if it's been neglected and abused, big bills are looming.

main thing at that mileage is getting the condition checked out, either a good mechanic friend or RAC for peace of mind.

if you do have previous invoices for servicing, it's a bonus with that age and mileage.
