New Head Unit Probs..........

Hi all, finally remover my standar err3 head unit, fitted the amp by-pass lead and the fitted a double din 7" touch screen cd/dvd player, every thing works find but sometime when i start the car the head unit restarts completely, seens like there not enough power?

im gona charge my Battery, and see first but is there anything else it could be?

and also does the standard head unit dim when you turn the lights on?

Does seem like a power drop. Do you notice the starter seems to hesitate?

Look at the wiring diagram for the system you have have in and you should see an "illumination" wire. Connect it to one in the existing loom that goes live when the lights are on. (Green I think)

have had the same problem the only thing i found was that the it was the rear speakers in the lexus draining the power! are you using two amps for example one in the boot for a sub and one for the speakers (lexus one) ?

no no amps, its running off the amp bypass lead,

are you sure the 12v constant and switched(usually red and a yellow wire) coming from the HU are connected to the same ones on the amp bypass lead. i remember with my old Pioneer headunit i had to switch the red/yellow wires on the HU wiring so that the red was connected to yellow and yellow to red, if you know what i mean, they should have connectors have way down the wire you can pull apart and swap. Worth a shot
