Well, the place has been open for a few months now and it is fantastic! I had a refresher course there the other week and then went on last Sunday...

Snowboarding is something I've always wanted to do properly as a sport and hobby.

On my 21st Birthday, I treated myself to a snowboard and some bindings, which were bought from New Jersey and California. For those that are into snowboarding you may be aware of the Burton EST System, well I went for the late release limited edition Burton Custom ICS Wide 162 and the Burton Cartel EST Bindings:

They are absolutely brilliant and can't wait to master the slope properly. Was hoping to get away this year and have a sesh on the slope but things are unbelievably busy at the moment so I'm prety gutted about that.

I'll be arranging a Lexus Meet here soon as well, as there are restaurants and rock climbing and obviously the Trafford Centre next door too for anyone wanting a wander :) Keep your eyes open for the topic that will be appearing soon...

All the best,

Jamie

Looks good fella, saw this set up when away in fracne this year, its very in your face, but i like it :)

What do you think about the EST system ? Is it any good ? It looks quite easy to adjust but is there only the 2 bolts holding the binding in or is there something else ???

I'll deffo be up for coming up here, they got any jumps/night sessions, i think at the birmingham snowdome they have a jump session on some saturday nights

Alright Elliot,

The EST System is pretty neat, yes - only two bolts holding the bindings in. There is so much adjustment possible, it's unreal ;)

Thursday night is Freestyle night at CFE and they have a couple of jumps out, some rails and a curved rail setup.

We'll sort something out at some point ;)

All the best,

J

Cheers Daz :)

I'm hoping to break away abroad at some point so any recommendations for a first time abroad on the snow would be appreciated :)

J

I was looking in the paper this week and pretty much the whole of europe hasnt had snow since the begining of feb and its been to warm for snow cannons so condition are getting worse by the day. Canada etc have had good snow but big bucks to get over there.

Each season is getting more random, last year was pretty bad didnt snow till late december in places then this year great snow early on in the season but now looks like it could be finished early.

If you do go away you have to look into snow condition etc closely the best way to do it is last minute you get cheapest deals and can be 100% that there will be snow.

If your first time away look into resorts with lots of blues and reds you'll get bored of green straight away.

Cheers for the information, Elliot.

I'm wondering whether (reluctantly) it is worth waiting until December or early January next year to go abroad....?

Regarding piste colour, I was debating whether to go for the Blues as oppose to Greens.

Kind regards,

Jamie

You should be ok go for the blues jamie...id wait till january next year mate get sme practice in first then get that ticket to canada... :whistling:
