Another Hid Conversion Thread

Sorry to post yet another thread about HiD conversions but I've read through several on here before actually searching for kits and I still have questions. I'm hopeless, I know....lol

So anyway.

Question 1 :

Has anyone tried these and are they good?

HiD Kit on ebay

Question 2 :

Would there be any problems with alignment if I bought kits from the US or is that controlled by the headlamp itself, rather than the bulb?

Before anyone suggests alternative kits (feel free to do so) please note that I've decided on 4300k ones.

the link doesn't work mate.

and the directionality is control by the headlight unit itself not the bulb so buying from America shouldn't be a problem.

Ahh crap, I'm at work now and only have my phone to access the net on.

If you search for Lexus Is200 in the Xenon sub-section, there's loads the same. Red box, Jap writing all round, lol (£22.99 + lots of p&p)

Yeah, that's what worried me but is it because they hike up the cost of P&P instead of the product price? Put together, it works out at £45 which is similar to what Einstein and some others paid if I remember rightly. They probably don't even come from the US! lol

you are buying from Hong Kong, where it is possible that they are the manufacturer as well.. you are cutting out the middleman.

There may be a small amount of import duty and VAT to pay after you receive the goods.. (depending on how much value they put on the docket)

UK sellers import these, and add on delivery, duty and tax, and a damn good profit margin, hence the much higher prices.... did you really think they sell lights made in the UK??

I did a bulk buy on the MX6 club, buying direct from a manufacturer, and still paid around £110 a set.. at that time, the average price was over £200 a set, so we did ok.. since then, prices have gone down big style, helped I suppose by the exchange rate with the US Dollar.. (they like dealing in US Dollars)

either way, the deals on eBay are unbeatable at the moment..

Sod it, couldn't find the seller 'dianeshop' and couldn't see any kits on HIDS4U that were 4300k so I went ahead and ordered the ones I'd seen. Wish me luck

if you had phoned them up you can state to them what kelvin bulbs you wanted..
