That is ludicrous. Having said that I went to a bar in Birmingham a few weeks ago and they were charging £130 for a bottle of whisky/gin etc and up to £495 for a bottle of Moet et Chandon. A single bottle of beer was a fiver.

That's quite common in better quality establishments. I prefer it to be honest because then you don't feel like you're being a cheapskate or unsure whether you're leaving too much, and you can always ask for it to be removed from the bill if service hasn't been up to scratch.

I think that's a bit out of order (adding the gratuity themselves). Never had that and by doing that there is no way they'd see a tip from me :P
