I was approached today by a neighbour who got chatting to me about my IS 200 & how he likes them

after a few mins he made me an offer to swap my Lex for his lancia HF delta integrale evo 16 v 2.0 turbo ( 1993 )

one of the last ones made he said ,

he bought it round & i must say i was very impressed , full service history , loads & loads of bills

& very low mileage , not a blemish anywhere , he has owned the car for 11 years but wanted a change !

you views would be much appreciated guys ...

Indeed all Lhd but loads have been converted to rhd with parts from lesser modells.

Owned several of them and a good one (no mods/damage/full service history) is worth twice the value of a late IS200 (at least over here). Chance is small it's one of the last evo modells (up to 265 bhp) but if you find one contact a lancia club and ask them what to look for (of have the forum guru check the car).

So: not for daily use but if all is good a swap you'll never regret.

loads & loads of bills

Doesn't that ring alarm bells?

ex Lancia owner here.. if you want a weekend blast go for it. Also being a neighbour he's unlikely to offer you a duffer is he

Maybe not knowingly but on a car (and manufacturer) that does have such a horrendous reputation for reliability who knows. I'm with you totally - if it's used as a weekend car I'd go for it 110% but as an everyday car? Maybe another story.

mine wasnt quite in the same league, 2000 HPE but bits fell off it on a regular basis, rust issue was well sorted, parts were in short supply even back then when they had dealers here (mid 80's) .

I should have said no when i blew the head gasket on the test drive  but couldnt resist it once they had repaired it

The strangest thing that happened to me was suddenly, when sat at lights, the roof lining collapsed onto my head!the whole lot! electrics were dodgy as expected but to wait a month for a petrol gauge to be imported from Italy was the norm!

Its definatley one for an enthusiast :winky:
