I know the parts are expensive but I'd have thought the job was an hour or so at most, each side.

I had both arms done on my J reg LS400 many years back at 150k and 160k miles respectively.

Is it a Lexus dealer doing the job ?

I would phone up a Lexus dealer and ask how long the job takes to do/their cost to do it and then you know if the other garage are ripping you off.

It looks like you have to remove the shocks to extract the fixing bolts although this could just be for air suspension models as I think with springs there is enough clearance to get them out, then it's just a case of removing the ball joint retaining nut and splitting the ball joint out of the arm.

Like the others have said I would estimate given it's basically a 17mm socket, breaker bar and a BJ splitter and a garage environment to work in a max of 2 hours labour.

If it is similar to the GS300 top wishbone, you can jack under the bottom wishbone to compress the spring slightly, the bolts then line up through the coils and come out without removing the shocker unit.
