60,000 Mile Service

my first post hope all goes well.

can anyone help? i need to have my 60000 mile service done on my is200 and lexus want £436.01 to do it does this sound right or is there a cheaper option at the same quality.

Price does sound about right from Lexus. Why not ask some of your local indy garages for a quote ?

Does that include the cambelt change? If so, that's very cheap

no the cam belt and tentioner were done 8 months ago this service includes

spark plugs

oil and filter

brake fluid change

gasket ?

gear box oil

air filters

valet collection and delivery.

there maybe more like checks i guess.

im thinking of also using slick 50 when they change the oil does sound like a good idea..

Yes the 60k one is the biggy. I think mine was about £600 for my IS200. It's cheaper on the IS220/250.

In that case it could be a bit lower, have a haggle as there is always a bit of room, plus they have special reduced pricing for older cars now which might help a bit too.

If you can contact other Lexus dealerships, you would think that they would all charge the same but this is not the case, I got what I think is an amazing deal when I brought my new GS450h, four services for £1060, my local dealer wanted £1580 for the same thing, ok the disadvantage is that I have to travel 80 miles round trip, but even taking account the cost of fuel I still recon I am saving £90 per service.

Going to a main car dealer isnt always best option only thing i think of is FLSH that may be better for resale value ? if theres a reputable japanese car specialist i try there & you still save alot money for just as good quality of work imo/experience, luckily where i live i got a toyota/lexus specialist thats top notch, gd service & excellent work etc.....& uses OEM toyota parts, they got few a few ex toyota techs working there, Get In ! so if you find somewhere like that it be a bonus, i only use a lexus garage if its under warranty like a new car or fairly new bought from them.......

Thanks for all the advice and views I have now since found a garage that services and deals with lexus at a lower price and they are going to do more work like change the gear box oil and diff oil which lexus was not going to so hope all goes well on Thursday.
