A Bit Depressed-Need Sympathy

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

Every year since I turned 50,I've tried Saga for insurance. They have always been too expensive. Good I think to myself, it means I'm too young for them! Guess what, this morning they have quoted me £57 less than anyone else. I am now officially OLD :crybaby: . I didn't mind the expanding waistline, the going grey and bald, but this is really upsetting.

Just to let you know they have charged £287 for LS430, fully comp, protected no claims and £250 excess.

Pete

The same thing happened to me - Saga were way cheapest (half what the AA were asking). It's a bit depressing, and I'm now getting lots of junk mail about old people's cruises, stair lifts and walk-in baths, but I reckon it's worth the sacrifice.

Well, there are discrepancies within AA Insurance itself. For the last three years running it was much cheaper for me to take out a new policy with them than renew my existing one - it seems their business is geared up to attract new customers rather than reward loyal ones, despite all the extra paperwork that must be required. When I pointed this out, they price-matched the premium to the 'new customer' rate, thereby saving everybody a lot of kerfuffle, but they wouldn't have done if I hadn't told them I wanted to cancel.

Don't forget the £6.00 a month scheme for the over 50s "which provides for your loved ones after you have gone"

Take out the policy pay the 1st 2 payments, cancel and retain your free gift,in my case a new portable LCD television for £12.00! :whistling:

Oh and don't forget the 'Free Parker Pen" just for enquiring.

Usually there's a cancellation fee?

This morning's mail included a leaflet about the Co-Op's wills and funeral planning service. Thank you, Saga. (The cover girl is Elsie, who makes 'the best scones in Little Sutton'. It doesn't say whether she's a Lexus owner, but I'd guess it's unlikely.)

There's an accident claims ad on TV at the moment for with an animated dog voiced I think by Joe Pasquale which has it's arm in a sling and a bandage on it's tail,at the end of the ad the dog turns around and walks away wagging its tail.....obviously therefore a false claim!!!!!!

'Elsie also enjoys a jaunt along the local country roads in her Lexus to the local village store where she can buy locally produced organic flour and eggs for her renowned scones which have won many prizes at the local village fete"
