Top Gear Jk Driving A Yellow Lfa

Recommended Posts

He's coming around as he's getting older :whistling:

Why is he coming round? He has slagged our wonderful cars off since they were first built - who is paying him what?

Bren

We are all paying for him in our enforced payment of a Wireless & Televisual Receiver license. It is rumored he gets around a 1/4 million pounds per series, plus of course all the extras that spin off it. The other two don't get quite as much.

I always record and watch it back with the sound down. I'm really not interested in anything any of them have to say except "And on that bombshell" as that's the end.

Like all those who like to think they are "Shock Jocks" give them enough rope and they will hang themselves and it will happen to him as well. Mike

It always makes me chuckle on car forums when there's a Top Gear thread, and so many come on saying how much they don't like it, don'tlike the presenters, how much money they make, etc etc - so don't watch it. Simple

How much Sorry you ain't even close he & the others get paid much more as they get paid on world-wide sales which are in the millions & no license fees are used. The program more than covers its costs

No one ever gives the BBC free programs for nothing. We as license payers pay for everything that the BBC produces. I am sure there is plenty of revenue produced through the program being syndicated and you can be sure that JC get a fair whack of that as well.

I did also put that the basic JC got was £250000 and on top of that there are all the extras.

The sums that these presenters are paid on the BBC is way over the top but that is something that is rife through the BBC. Alan Hanson and Alan Shearer get in excess of £40k each plus expenses to sit there on Match of the Day and talk about the bleedin obvious.

The sooner this lot including all the backroom lot are outed the better and then maybe we can get back to quality programming which is what they are meant to produce all the time and for a lot less money.

Now I need a cup of tea. Mike

I think JC is an helmet and talks nothing but bo$$%%ks and his pal well...... However the show can be funny as hell so I always watch. As Matt said you don't have to watch - It was great seeing Mick Fleetwood on Sunday, how is he still alive? If JC can make gazzillions from the Top Gear name good luck to him - he's still an helmet - and we all would if we could :)

What's the betting he will be driving a Lexus soon :)

Looking forward to the next episode

I love Top Gear, James May makes me chuckle.

I would like them to make the program 1 & 1/2 hours long and add in a bit more of the old style reviews in too.

You've seen one car smoke its tyres you've seen them all.

When you think the most you see of any car is the inside looking at the dash etc but only seconds are devoted to it.

I watch it because I am car mad and would love it to become slightly more serious, I think a bunch of school kids could do a better job. Nothing worse than a man approaching his bus pass acting like hes just left University. Mike

I agree Mike.

Its the tyre smoking and pictures changing with almost strobe like speed that hacks me off. I love the daft road trips except when they do stuff like the skid mark p***s in the last episode.

Still going to watch though. Its a shame that wheeler dealers has got less spannering going on nowadays.

I'm with you all the way. Trouble is there is no other program that shows all those wonderful super cars. Hardcore Car Porn. Mike

I'm not sure how you can judge a program or it's presenters without watching it.

I'd guess that a lot watch it despite the presenters, because it's got cars in it, and there are very few car shows on the box these days.

I have never watched Britains Got No Talent, Strictly Prancing or all the rest of that banal cess pit of rubbish that our televisions are now full of these days, but I know I would rather sit and watch a skip rust for the rest of my life than spend a single second watching any of it.

I agree on 5th Gear but even they are guilty of boring tyre smoking but they do have one thing that none of the others have and that is Vicky Butler Henderson.

Hmmm VBH ........

Anyone else find her squeals of delight slightly attractive or is it just me!

We must be a couple of pervs as that is without doubt one of her best features.

I think we might be on the wrong forum here to discuss the many virtues of VBH Mike

I'm with you on that. I've watched the above once only, that was enough, and that's only on iplayer etc. We got rid of the TV (by that I mean the connection) over 12 years ago, one of the best things we ever did. I recently stayed at my brothers for 2 months as we were working together, it was a competition every night to see who would win with the conversation, usually the TV, which seems to just shout these days won. Going back to Top Gear, it was great in the old days when they would test ordinary cars (as well as super cars) These days they don't even seem to drop ordinary cars from cranes or drive them into walls or turn them into boats. It is, as has been said, just smoking tyres. And why don't they get rid of Hammond, he's the only one that isn't really funny.

LOL @ VBH - the only "virtue" she has is she's in a programme normally dominated by males. So by default she becomes attractive. However, compare her to the majority of TV show presenters, she actually isn't.

I have just thought of one thing worth looking at Top Gear for and that is Sabine Schmitz. I would pay for her to take me round the Nururgring Ring any time, slow as you like, no point in rushing a good thing. Mike
