Any Good Insurers For Is220/250

Recommended Posts

Its that time of year again where I need to re-insure the IS250.

Are there any recommended insurers as at present my quote is around £450 a year which seems very expensive given I am 40 with no convictions or points and no accidents.

I've been very happy with LV.com but I'm a little older. Their web site is easy to use to get an online quote and I'm sure it'll be better than £450 at around £260 I think for your age but dependant on your NCD and what options you want.

Hope that helps.

Confused.com.....Privelege = Direct Line, Elephant = Churchill, Diamond = Admiral.....they all say they don't sell on comparison sites, but they do under different names.

Cheapest isn't always the best, unless it's one of these three....only £317 for mine at Privelege, mid 40's, no accidents on a new GS!

I will do so e searching. I certainly have no loyalty when it comes to car insurance.

Privilege were the company that wanted £450 oddly enough.

I've insured highly modified cars with over 400bhp for less money.

I'm with LV, including protected NCD, insured and spouse to drive, SD&P only (retired) premium is £192.94. Don't do that many miles in a year any more though so that helps, plus my post-code.

You should never just accept your renewal invitation, you should always phone them and discuss. I have always enjoyed great success with doing this, I have often been amazed at how much some of them are prepared to move.

The cheapest isn't always the best, particularly if you have a quality car and, if you have a ding, want to maintain it in as good a condition as possible. A repair shop selected by an insurer may not be one that is capable, or allowed by the insurer, of restoring your car to a Lexus-standard condition using Lexus parts etc. I have insured with Lexus for the past few years and have found them to be excellent in every respect. Furthermore, they have typically given me premiums that were no more expensive, and often cheaper, than their competitors. On the one occasion when I needed some repair work following a collision with a pheasant, they very quickly dealt with the claim and authorised the repair with a Lexus dealer without quibble. Admittedly, my 40th birthday was many years ago (although I am still 25 in my dreams) and I do not do a high mileage but I recommend that you give Lexus a try - you might be surprised. Maybe you could post back in this thread what you decided as it could be of benefit to others.
