Knocking, Any Ideas?

I've had the drop links changed on the front as advised by my mechanic because there was a knocking noise coming from front passenger side. After the drop links where changed the same knocking noise is still there when I drive over uneven surfaces or ramps but my "mechanic" has no idea what it is. Any help would be great!

Same on mine, sometimes sounds like a coil spring had snapped but then almost disappears. My mechanic had car on ramps and checked everything but could find nothing wrong. Only possible cause is the shock absorber. Reckon thats what your problem is but is it worth the £ to find out? Leave it as they should be changed in pairs.

I too suffered from the knocking sound but it disappeared when I replaced my shocks last year. I also fitted new top mounts, coil springs and drop links at the same time so I can't say definitively that it was only the shocks that were to blame. Looking through that old topic though and it seems they probably are/were the cause.

Its the shocks and something to do with the oil viscosity inside them. Historic problem that Lexus would never acknowledge, like inner tyre wear. Its nothing to worry about, just turn the stereo up.
