Ls400 Small Leak Coming From Door Tweeter

Recommended Posts

Hi

I have a 2000 ls400 and have just noticed a very small leak coming from the drivers door tweeter. Is this common problem and how would i fix it?

Thanks in advance

Roof drains are in each of the 4 corners, gently poke a soft but firm piece of summat down the first couple of inches then remove the rod and wash water down them. You should see the water cascading from underneath !

I posted here with the same leak and have now fixed my passenger side. We have had heavy rain here on a number of occasions over the past few weeks and the 'fixed' side has remained bone dry with no further evidence of water. I still need to do the driver side as water piddles in from the tweeter and then drips down the door card.

Hopefully I can do it this weekend and I will post a guide on how to....it is all relatively straightforward I am pleased to say and in my experience the leak definitely comes from behind the chrome trim surround on the door.

Excellent Jeremy,I tried to download it ,the pictures came out o.k. but the writing was very small.Do you know how to enlarge it??

Thanks for all your comments - I'm afraid I don't know how to enlarge the text, you could always cut and paste into word, enlarge and print out per stage. Ahhh - if your PC/laptop has a mouse with a scroll wheel, you can hold down CTRL and at the same time roll the mouse wheel and zoom interactively....works a treat
