In this ad the seller claims that 1997 was 'the last year they were made in Japan."

I'd either missed that......is it true?

If so, where do they make - say Ser 4, etc?

Didn't you know after 1997 they were all made by the umper lumpers as a sideline to chocolate. Can't have all the eggs in one basket don't you know.

All Lexus models are produced in Japan apart from the rx330 which has been produced in Canada since 2003

That's what I thought too.

Though umper lumper relates more to Beemers, perhaps?

Notice it hasn't had a cambelt change, also that is a four speed like mine.

4 forward and 1 reverse I guess

My daily ride has 16 forward & 4 reverse 420 bhp & a 12 litre lump( 6.2 mpg though)
