Breakdown Renewal? Don't Forget To Haggle!

Last year my AA renewal was over £170, I phoned them saying I would leave if they didn't reduce the premium and they brought it down to £117, that's relay, home start, joint membership etc. This year the premium is £183, after phoning again they reduced it to £152, then £127. So if you're up for renewal, haggle!

And aren't I glad I'm covered, last week we were driving down to the far west of Cornwall in my Vauxhall when the wipers packed up in heavy rain on the A27 dual carriageway. Full marks to the AA guy, who did and excellent temporary repair which got us there and back.

Have you considered having breakdown cover as part of the extras on you car insurance bet it works out cheaper - just a thought

The breakdown cover is excellent ,,, saved me £465 on repairs to my cl500

And saved the mrs £320 on repairs to her 3 series

Yup...I have it as an add on with my NFU policy. It's basically full UK RAC cover for very much less than RAC. NFU won't/don't/can't cover my SL60, so that has it's own breakdown policy with RescueMyCar at a fraction of AA/RAC costs.

Good heads up Phil. We have had this two years running with the RAC, in fact they took the renewal money out of my wife's account one year without warning!

Every renewal we challenge the premium and every year they drop it, it's worth a phone call.
