  1. Thank you for the welcome Gents. I picked up my car from Yorkshire on Sunday and drove it back the 231 miles to Norwich. What a great drive it was. I only have one picture at the moment and don't want to take anymore until I have done the bizo with the cleaning products. Anyway, here it the one and only piccy so far.

  2. Last weekend of September sounds good. I will post on the other forums over this weekend to try and get the numbers up. Looks like there is interest from southerners and northerners so will be hard to choose a venue that suits everyone. The one near Donington Park sounds good, there is also a venue just off the A38 near Burton on Trent that i know would be suitable. Easy access from Birmingham, and also from the northeast via the M1 getting off at Junction 28, and northwest via the A50 from Stoke.

  4. Hi Normski ,you should be able to find a good MX5 for around your price ;The prices have dropped a bit with the Mk 4 ND coming out .I have had MX5's for over 15 years brilliant cars ,the one I have now is a 6 year old 2 litre retractable hard top bought new as a keeper , my advice is to go for the 2 litre ,a small price premium but worth it in my view .It might be worth a look over on the MX5 owners club site as you can get some nice cars on there from like minded people good luck Dave

  5. Seems VERY good value, especially at that mileage and also seems to tick all the right boxes. Good add, flsh etc Has to be worth a look. May only not have sold if only on eBay. I never look there for cars. If it was in autotrader would probably have sold by now.

  6. Whilst I don't have any information on the car itself I do know that it's been up for a sale on eBay severaltimes over the past few months. The first ad I saw had the price closer to the £20k mark and the owner wanted to sell it and buy a DB9. He's listed a '16 plate Lexus based private reg up on eBay recently and the ad for that mentioned he was planning to buy an RC but changed his plans. I'm surprised it's not been sold given that it's been up for sale so long.

  7. Just a thought. Have you owners of 'Special' motors thought of having a tracker fitted?

  8. Surely that depends on the spec and the type of car you get? If its a low end version, it won't have cruise control or electric folding mirrors. There are plenty of cars that dont have a spare wheel nowadays and hard suspension, MPG is dependent on the driver and conditions. Also, getting in and out of the driving seat is going to be difficult in any car that sits low. I wouldnt buy a Maserati Gran Turismo and complain that it was too noisy, unreliable and pointlessly fast to the point where I couldnt use the power would I?.......

  9. I have not noticed any oil consumption, since i changed my oil and filters. Its an odd dipstick, when you dip the oil its half way up the stick. I thnk they may of under filled the oil. Put 5 litres in and thought that was it. Have you checked your pollen filter, make sure you watch utube video. Does the brake fluid not look clean. Dealer rung me last week saying mot was due, when i pointed out i just had it done, and they had just done the recall work said i must be the wrong person. Bit strange dont you think. I do most of my own work, then i know its done properly. A stamp in a book is just that, i do oil and filters every 4 - 5000 miles and dont care if its over kill. For about £70.00 peace of mind. Brakes i do the pins twice a year, when i change to winter then back to summer tyres. Check pads and discs and replace if needed.

  12. Thanks guys, I was driving on motorway on dry sunny days. But I don't think it's to do with the condition in this instance. As found out how to zero reset the mpg counter. This is in the little display for average mpg and average speed and now the mpg reading is 61.0 sometimes higher when driving. I just got the car so I a bit new to driving a hybrid. Thanks for your help..

  13. If you want a better chance of interest if make it all Lexus models. I do that and get between 5-10 cars each time.

  14. The new one has arrived early. I've got the option to take it now or wait until Sep. I've opted to leave it as I'll be away for most of this month and I may as well get the new plate in four weeks time.
