  1. Hi guys, spent ages searching for a nice IS250, almost gave up trying to find one pre 2006 with good mileage and manual! (Not fussy at all) this is one popped up literally last min with a full Lexus SH and 1 owner from new! My previous car was a civic type R and after owning the Lexus for a week I'd never go back.

  2. I was going to try and arrange a Northern meet soon, makes sense to just come to this one instead. Bound to be a few other Northern folk who are up for it.

  4. Fuel consumption has got better actually - the tyres are quieter too. The standard fitment were Dunlop SP270

  5. I cant comment on all season tyres, what i would say. Why would a company make an all season tyre so you are not buying 2 set Summer and Winter tyres i own both, coming from front wheel drive. Not a bad winter last ,but will put them on again thiis year. In the wet they are something else especially below 7 degrees. Can you justify owning 2 sets can you store them when not in use?

  6. Go to Charlesworth Motors near Glossop. Much cheaper than the dealer. No marble floors or espresso maker, but you at least won't need to remortgage.

  7. Looks nice shahpoor! I was hunting for that colour originally. I agree, it's definitely a nice place to be on a trip, seems decent on fuel too considering. any pics of your Lexus stormchaser? I think a CTR is something you have to own once just for the experience / fun but yeah long term I suppose it's what ever you are into. couldnt agree with you more MikeyV, great fun and the handling is sharp. I remember when I was a kid and seen the fith gear cover on the Integra DC2 Type R and years after the EP3 on top gear. Two wild cars that looked different from the rest and got heads turning. I've been lucky enough to own both and I'm glad to have experienced them :) i think the Lexus is one I'll have for a while now, I don't do big mileage and so far it seems really easy to live with, very happy with it

  8. All season tyres are fine. They certainly are on my RX. They're actually grippier than the standard Dunlop summer tyres in wet, dry, hot and cold conditions! If you don't get much snow you're better off with all seasons than winter tyres. The michelin cross climate tyres are awesome but I doubt they come in your size.

  10. Have you asked what the reason is for it having such a low mileage for the year of the car - breaking it down, that's just over 1000 per year.!! You need to consider that the mileage is not that important due to the age of the car - the cost is a bit excessive to be honest. It is still an old car however you look at it.. If rust was an issue with these cars (luckily its not) then the mileage would be irrelevant. It has obviously not been used regularly so I would take a very close look at hoses / fluids / moving parts as being sat for any length of time is not good for any car. You have said it has got a full service history ... what has it had done and at what mileage. I would have expected the dealer would have referenced the age of the car and not the mileage when considering the service work required?

  11. Great choice and and a lovely car. I agree on your previous car. I had a Swift Sport before my CT and couldn't put up with all the noise and keeping in the revs for power especially on motorways. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  12. I have a 2008 IS 220d SE-L in Windsor blue with Ivory leather. I am afraid I have been lazy and don't have any pictures of mine, expect one: Mine is the one on the right, next to an identical spec 250. It has been just over a year and 11k miles since I bought it, and I love being in it. Not the greatest drive in the world, but a very nice place to sit for those long motorway journeys.

  13. Cheers guys! I've only got pics from when it was for sale, I haven't had a chance yet to give it a good wax so that's my plans for the weekend :) yeah the CTR was good fun but motorways were annoying because you'd have to drop the gear hitting 6,500 to get a good acceleration and the cabin noise was too much when you just want to go for a trip. I had to pick a pre 2006 mainly on budget but I couldn't justify paying £490 tax. I wanted a manual mainly because I thought it may be less to go wrong and couldn't really decide if I liked the paddle shift (although I've read it's probably the best option) Its a pretty clean car on all fairness, a few little mark which I'll tidy up but all in all I'm really impressed with it! what you driving shahpor?

  14. Depends what you want. If you want a ceramic sealant which will last 2 years, go for Cquartz UK. Its great stuff and just needs an occasional top up with the supplied Reload. Extremely easy to use as well unlike some coatings out there. If you want something less permanent, go for a sealant like FK1000p or Soft99 Fusso for winter.
