  1. When I bought my LS I was told that you can override the need for the code, I am not sure if this is the info that you need but it might be worth a try. I have not tried this myself, it came on a seperate piece of paper in my Sat Nav and Stereo instruction book. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (combination meter warning lights illuminated) While pressing CLIMATE and AUDIO switches simultaneously, turn the HEADLIGHT CONTROL SWITCH in the following sequence: OFF~SIDE LIGHTS~OFF~SIDE LIGHTS~OFF~SIDE LIGHTS The SYSTEM CHECK will become displayed on the screen. It will take approx. 30 seconds for the check to be completed - the display will change from CHECKING to OK Once all the function checks display OK then press MENU. The DIAGMENU will be displayed Starting with the AUDIO button, follow the sequence: AUDIO~DESTINATION~AUDIO~DESTINATION~AUDIO~DESTINATION The SECURITY menu will be displayed. Using the numeric keys enter 440215. Press ENTER The displaywill return to the DIAGMENU. Switch the IGNITION SWITCH to the OFF position. The security code is now cleared - the unit will operate normally. PLease ensure that a new security code is re-entered with the customers knowledge. As I said before I have no idea if this will work, maybe you can let us know how you get on... Redsteve.

  3. If a dealer resets the codes and cycles turns ignition off and then starts the car, this should reactivate the compressor - if you hear it kick in, then is not likely to be faulty. If all abs sensors have a code and had live faults then VSC and TRAC lights would be on the dash. I think they are red herrings! Although, there was an issue i saw when researching before buying the RX that a handful of cars had corroded connectors due to water ingress on the ABS loom plug somewhere under the bonnet which may be an avenue to explore. Hopefully the height sensor might need a good clean out and possibly a little inventive fabrication on any corroded metal parts like the threaded push rod to get it working again, they are hideously expensive and not a complicated electronic part! 4. Don't even get me started on that. The surface rust on underneath of the car that we take so much for granted in UK was the starting point - inspector asked for interior to be stripped so he can be satisfied the rust wasn't inside the car. Once that was done, then bottom had to be sand blasted to remove rust, and sealed again. Ended up being an expensive exercise. Several other niggles have come and been sorted. Anyway, picture of front of unit attached. I managed to convert the SatNav to NZ maps by changing the Navigation ECU - sits sandwiched between the stereo and the display unit. Needed a Denso unit rather than an Aisin as no Aisin maps exist for Oz/NZ. Will upload photos on a different thread.

  5. I'm with you on this. I bought some Denso blades, again, not cheap. After just a few weeks they were juddering and squealing. Next I bought some fairly cheap ones (can't remember which) and they were fine. I have also found Bosch to be good.

  6. Can't offer any expert advice I'm afraid and a quick search on here and the US forums hasn't turned up much at all, suggesting that it's not a common issue. The only suggestions I can make are to see if an OBD reader throws up any error codes or maybe to think about doing a AT fluid change. The car looks to be in very good nick so I hope you manage to get it sorted out.

  7. well heres my 2p worth - I have an LS430 I bought the all singing dancing Michelin Stealth - not cheap - they started juddering badly after 6 months - I tried cleaning them and the screen and the juddering did not improve. I then decided to try the other end of the price spectrum and bought a pair of aero blades from ebay (i think it was mr silicone hoses or something) they had sold hundreds so i thought lets try them out - cost £4.50 - had them over 6 months and they are still brilliant - smooth, quite and a crisp clean wipe every time and at that price I would be happy to buy a new set every year if needed. 8. Buy cheap, buy twice (ask me how I know!) - I buy Bosh wipers 'aero' style and replace every couple of years. The RX with Auto-wipers enabled is quite hard on the blades! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  9. Bosch gets my vote too. Great all round.

  10. Aero blades are fine for the RX, I had them too and they were great. The refills are only for the OEM blades. Ive had good experience with Bosch Aerotwin and Wiper Blades own brand (these are on my son's VW Polo and offer a fantastic wipe). TBH they are impossible to beat in terms of value for money. http://www.wiperblades.co.uk/lexus-rs-300-400-years-2003-to-2007/wbtr-26-retrofit-aero-and-wbtr-22-retrofit-aero-twin-pack-wiper-blades/

  11. Not sure this is exactly an answer to your question but maybe you're overthinking it a bit? I don't know whereabouts in Lacashire you are but I'm in Preston and we have a motor factors place called Dodgson's on Fylde Rd. I went in there and just asked for a full set of wiper blades for an RX300 and came out with all three for £16. They don't judder or skip and they work very well - not sure how long they'll last but at £16 a set I'm not exactly breaking the bank, even if they only last a year. In my experience (ok, only had the car since mid-May, so not a lot really) the thing that causes more judder and skipping is the sensitivity of the rain sensor. I don't know where it's located or how it works but the windscreen can be 99% dry and one tiny drop sets off the wipers, which then swipe over a dry screen and cause havoc

  12. This is so often the case, its really disappointing when we the general public & owners (like myself) of these cars who are led to believe & trust that Lexus dealers are the best & will do as they actually say they will, unfortunately to me (& a lot of my customers too by the way) it seems that most of them are Franchised & as such like pretty much all Franchised Dealers only really after one thing - your money of course. I really hope there are exceptions out there I cant believe all of them are this way. Recently I posted on the Lexus owners club Facebook group page offering free advice & guidance on battery, auxiliary transmission pump & shock absorber issues to any one who is having problems, pretty much directly after i posted i was grilled heavily by another member of the group as to my qualifications & experience which I was able to provide easily. He was clearly trying to discredit me to any one reading - It was only after this "conversation" ended after my repeat insistence's !! - that I thought I would have a look at this persons Facebook profile & guess what!!! Yep you guessed it he is employed by a Lexus dealership as an after-sales manager would you believe!!! I think the moral is only go on other owners experiences & reccomendations. With your transmission filling questions - if you would like to PM me I can give you a great tip on how to fill very easily to the correct level really easily & with no mess - from my own experience!!!
