  1. My IS200 Sport has a pretty wimpy spring for unlocking the boot, so I guess it is just luck as to how far they open. With keeping the ecsaine clean, I use AutoGlym for the leather parts and a soft suede brush for the rest. Hope you enjoy your car as much as we all enjoy ours! :)
  2. Why not call your call Willy? Strange women may come up and stroke it - you'd have a LS model in no time! :o
  3. Mine's the same colour, same problems! My car came with a tin of touch up paint so it's not an unusual problem! Don't know about stone chips specifically on the black ones, but I know you have to keep 'em polished!
  4. Blimey, you were lucky the RAC were so good :wow: I've nearly done the same thing so now my spare key 'lives' with my parents (on the condition it's hidden out of sight of my brother who fancies a drive!)
  5. Oooh, how rude of me....pleased to meet you too! (ANd you Blue Thunder) :bounce:
  6. Hiya, I agree with Blue Thunder - definitely check out the paint and wheels. Apart from that if it's nice and clean outside and in, there doesn't usually seem to be an issue. They tend to be well looked after :saint: I love my car and if I can help it, (or I win the lottery!) I won't be driving anything but Lexus in future
  7. Hi, if it helps, I've got an IS200Sport. I get @30-35 mpg and it costs me @£40-£45 to fill up the tank. Insurance is a group 13, I'm 27 with no no-claims discount and it costs me around £650 to insure. Driving a Scooby you'll notice the difference in performance but it's a lovely ride
  8. Well, I have to start somewhere :( Perhaps I can get a bigger model for my birthday Going off to sulk now... :sniff:
  9. Hi, I originally ordered the SE with a couple of extras - the boot spoiler and chrome exhaust trim. In the end I held out and went for the Sport. I don't notice anything majorly difference in terms of it being lowered and ultimately went for the Sport because it's a bit nippier and I preferred the interior. I definitely recommend either the SE or Sport and both will be a marked difference over the Golf with drive and comfort. Good luck choosing! I went for the Sapphire Blue and am forever washing it
  10. Got my model Lexus today, thanks GRiM!!!!! Drawn lots of admiring smiles already from all the boys (who, it has to be said, were also v.impressed with my car noises as I speeded the car round my desk!). GRiM, could you repost the link to EBay if they are still available? I think everyone should order one then we can have a mini-JAE meet! :tumble:
  11. Alcoholic stuff = A really nice bottle of red like Wolfblaes, whisky (Talisker, yum, yum) or any lager Non Alcoholic = water, tea (and lots of it) or the diet coke with the lemon in it
  12. I'll make it my mission to recruit other wimmin drivers then (:o)! So far only other blokes have been persuaded. One of our sales guys has asked if I can take him out in my Lexus as he'd seen it in the car park, liked it and his BMW was due for a change!!!!!
  13. Certainly wouldn't risk leaving it - it may just be a fuse or something but it's worth getting the dealership to check it out and re-set it.
  14. Hi JoJo, another girl in the club (or should I rephrase that) I thought that the IS200 was a little underpowered at first but it does loosen up after a few miles. Mine's a standard un-modded sport, but if you've got a few pennies to play with I'd go with the mods the guys have listed. You should have seen and heard them at JAE last weekend! Anyway welcome to the Club and hope to see you in Gold
  15. Not one usually for topless photo's but the SC430 does look good in that GRiM! I didn't think there was a soft top option and I couldn't see why anyone would choose it. I think the hard top gives it the added stability it needs - although it's a lovely drive, I felt there was a bit of unecessary body roll with the roof down. Hmm, better think of a nice way to break the news to mum-in-law :tumble:
  16. Could probably do with rephrasing that Tonb  It's great fun though, you should see their faces when I zoom past :D
  17. Definitely sounds as though we had similar plates! Hmmm, Lenny eh? I think we can come up with a better name than that..could almost start a new thread :D Soft and cuddly names or slick, fast wonders?!?!?
  18. Cool ! I parked up in Windsor in the coach park to meet up with my dad and while I was stood with him chatting, about 1/2 a dozen people kept passing filming my IS200 or taking photos. Did I feel proud or wot!!! :D
  19. Oooops - Of course that'll be the mail originating from the ALL KNOWING Claire :D Phew, cred restored...thanks Andy for keeping that quiet !!! :D
  20. My mum-in-law swears blind she's seen an SC430 with a soft-top. I didn't think Lexus did this - certainly never seen one. Over to you guys, SC430 soft-top - fact or fiction? :?:
  21. No pub for me last Friday lunchtime...too busy polishing up the IS200 for JAE :saint:
