    Ok folks, I have a confession to make a la Jerry Springer. I.....very.....nearly......got......a.......BMW 3 series......a.....little....while.....back:( Ooh, the strain of that confession. I was offered one as a company car but in the end I turned the job down, started with my present company and fell in love with my Lexus. Could have been a close shave though:o

    I saw a blue IS in-front down the Bath Road one day and thought - that must be claire. I drove "progressively" and caught up so I could wave madly but it definitely wasn't you - it was a bloke driving. Could quite possibly have been my husband. He's been dropping me into work and borrowing my car (feel a domestic coming on!!!). I'll instruct him to wave back next time :D

    Try being nice and letting out BMW drivers of junctions - the look of confusion on people's faces is really funny...someone being nice to them for a change!! LOL

    Car tax and car insurance is a con! Firstly car tax - people get penalised for the size of engine no matter how efficient, clean and environmentally friendly. My 2.0l IS200 Sport is a lot better for the environment than my first car, a knackered little Y-reg 1.0l...yet I pay more car tax. Car insurance How come you get charged more for import cars EVEN if the use EXACTLY the same parts as a UK car. Hmpf

    From the photo it looks really great, no wonder you're excited! Happy polishing...it'll take a lot of work keeping the paintwork looking that good :smilegrin:

    Haven't had that on my Lexus but had a similiar problem when driving my husbands car a while back. It was the wheel weight that had come off - maybe that's happened to yours? I'd say that or the wheel alignment. The voices of experience will offer their insights soon and are more mechanically minded. Hopefully that'll give you some more ideas to look at.

    One of the biggest cons I'm having to endure at the moment is my husband 'borrowing' my car all the time... "Just to pop to the shops" or "I don't mind taking you, why don't you just have a snooze in the passenger seat"....."No, YOU have a drink tonight - I don't mind driving" :lol:

    What an opportunity! Get your boy a passport (3 day turn around is possible- they've stopped the same day) and at the end of October it could be sunny climbs! My daughter will be coming (9) and loves little ones - she likes champagne too! Must take after her mother. It would be really great to come along but realistically it's going to be difficult. With my husband working shifts and me travelling for work and trying to plan a holiday (!) anytime before Christmas is going to be a bit tricky. :( Your daughter likes Champagne :?: Good girl, expensive tastes already - I like :tumble:

    If you are worried about a drop in performance, have you tried or considered the IS200 Sport or an IS300? You'll find the standard spec higher than the A3 which may make up for any difference in performance. Let us know what you decide to go for. :)

    Steve, Matt - was this ever approached with Lexus GB? I am happy to draft a letter if need be, but it would be good to check if it's the whole range that's affected and if it's still the case on the latest models.
