  1. If you read what Mr Pants said you will see that you can control the amount the windows open or close, rather than fully open or closed as your Mondeo sounds like it did. I did read it thanks. This isn't control it's having to hold the button until you get bored. On the contrary, it is control. Being able to open the windows remotely by your chosen amount to vent the hot air is having control. Not much use to you I agree, as you obviously only want the choice of having the windows fully open or fully closed. By the way, how long did you have to wait before the Mondeo's windows started to open? I just checked my IS250 SEL and it took a whole 6 seconds holding the button down to fully open the windows.

  3. Who's cat is that? ...i'll get my coat :duh:
  4. NO there is not, as what you propose is both dangerous and illigal. You can fit screens to the back of the front seats, but any screen fitted within the drivers sight range is against the law. believe me, you are not adult enough to never look at the screen if it is in front of you and a good film showing.
  5. One quick search later..... "Oldcro" you never posted a Hello in the new members section! your first post was about phone compatibility with an IS250 :winky:..... Anyways a belated welcome even though i joined after you Thanks for the welcome Noel, much appreciated. I should just point out that I joined the public forum under a different name, but had to change it when going for Gold for some techie reason. I was just making coment about the number of replies Leanne got compared to other new members who joined at the same time. Best of luck to her by the way.
  6. Why didn't I get inundated with welcome wishes like Leanne when I joined? Could it have anything to do with the fact i'm a fat ugly over the hill male? Anyway welcome Leanne, and remember, most of your new found fans are married (im not). And those who are not married are only interested in your Altezza (i'm not).
  7. "HIGHWAY CODE" It is worth buying a copy if you passed the driving test some years ago. There are lots of new rules and regulations since I passsed mine. I remember when I first started to drive, the Highway Code had things like hand signals and pictures of a man on a horse and carriage pointing his whip to indicate. Older members might have seen things like having a man with a red flag walking in front. :winky:
  8. Looks easy as falling off a log. Providing you are brave/courageous/mad/stupid with a death wish.
  9. If you have already taken the IS200 to a dealer and had a PX price against the Avensis then the price offered would have included the value of the tax disc. If this is the case you would be offering the IS200 to someone for a set price, then removing the tax disc and you expect the buyer to honour the original offer price. On the other hand, if you intend to visit a dealer and ask for a PX price just mention that you are selling without the tax disc. I cannot see what you would gain be doing this as the dealer would just deduct the value of the tax disc from his original intended offer. Just do what YOU think is right, it's your concious after all.
  10. Where are you sailing from Jammy? I thought any ferry would take less than 5 hours to the IOM. Your right about the TT races though, a drive round the track opens your eyes when you look at the average speed they get round in. I dont think a Lexus or any car is the ideal transport during TT week as it is a bikers week. oldcro Hi matey, I sail from Fleetwood Marina - I sail over in the yacht, that's why it's slightly longer :) We usually make our way up to Creg Ny Ba - cracking vantage point and glorious when it's sunny! Jamie Sorry Jamie, I should have realised you didn't take a ferry when you mentioned you sailed over. :duh: oldcro

  12. (Snip) I could accept this happening on an extremely rare occasion due to some very unusual interference but this would seem to be more a fault on the car than location. A trial with a courtesy car would be in order I think. I've never had a problem with my keyless entry but I don't suppose radio waves are as much of a problem up here in the North East - we only got colour TV last month and to be honest I can't see it catching on. What's this TV thing you mentioned getting? and does it come in different colours? :duh:
  13. Hopefully yes! Anyone stupid enough to approach traffic lights at excessive speed deserves loose their licence.
  14. Could be your wallet saying goodbye to your driving license and cash.
  15. I think you ment to say "near side". :duh: I think you ment to say "near side". :duh: And I meant to say "meant" :duh: :duh:
  16. Not me, but I do like to park my old pickup about 6 inches from such selfish B's.
  17. How very true. I can never remember my parents complaining about things like tax or politics or even the shortage of money. We lived within our means, and never owed any money. What we could not afford we did without. School taught us discipline and respect, and if we did wrong we were punished with the cane. I cannot remember being bored as there was always plenty to do, and we had the best computer ever invented to keep,us interested and active. OUR IMAGINATION. Can you live without it: then do without it if you cannot afford it.
  18. Good for you, money cannot buy the feeling you had as you walked away. :D
  19. With the stubby little aerial that came with the tuner I get the following results. Analogue is very snowy and not worth watching. Digital is quite good as the picture is certainly watchable. Just to clarify, I am situated eleven miles from the local transmitter and in line of sight. I'm not sure what the power of the transmitter is, but believe it is much less than those down south.
  20. You must be talking about the built in lexus Sat Nav, but if you can calibrate the Sat Nav just for tyres I don't see what relationship the tyres have with the Sat Nav speed unless it uses them to wheel revolutions and not the satellites. It is used so the computer can calculate your position when no satellite signal is recieved, as in driving in a forest or through a tunnel.
  21. I have just loaded Vista Home Premium so cannot comment at this stage, although it looks like a steep learning curve is required. If anyone is planning to buy Vista there are two things to be aware of. First download and run the UPGRADE ADVISOR. Second is Do not buy the full version. Save some money and get the Upgrade of whichever version of Vista you choose. The upgrade can as its name suggests be installed on a suitable computer. You can also do a clean install with it on say a new hard drive. You then end up with the same OS as if you had bought the full version and afew pounds left in your pocket. :D
  22. Nothing, retired a few years ago and enjoying every minute of it. Was a Control Room Operater in an oil terminal.
  23. How about using one of the actuators used to move satellite dishes. They come in different sizes and types to suit the dish size, and 12 volts should be no problem to power them. Just a thought.
  24. I have not signed as I believe those with money should contribute more to the nations running costs. Remember, many people did nothing to earn the extra cash their property is now worth. They just happened to live in a house which was bought 20 or more years ago and inflation has increased its value from an original £4,500 to a massive £395,000 (as an example). So pay up and be glad you are in a position to need to. Personally, I would love to be in a position to have to pay inheritance tax.
  25. Thanks Continuity and Kazi, it's as I expected, the tuner fits in your shirt pocket but you need a van to carry the aerial around. Is there a small afermarket aerial available which gives the best results?
