  1. I just star the engine and leave it running for 10 mins, have heaters on full, with maximum heat. Rear screen heater on and my heated seat on so my bum is nice and warm when i get in!
  2. To be honest, i'm not a massive fan of the new IS. I remember seeing the first gen IS when i was at school. My friends brother had one brand new, i would have been about 12/13 at the time in 99 and loved the looks and always wanted to own one. IMO it was so different to other cars on the road at the time and i suppose it became a style icon. Everyone knows 'Lexus lights'. The new IS seems in my opinion seems very 'samey' to all the other competitors and doesn't have the wow factor, like the first gen IS did. This is only my opinion mind you.... I still look at my IS and love the way it looks and stands, especially when its clean and has had the old polish and wax treatment. I'll be sad to see mine go next week!
  3. I went to the Chesterfield dealership. It's where my mum got her car from and they're top notch
  4. Bit of an impulse buy to be honest! I saw it, liked the look of it, test drove it and before i know it i'd bought it!
  5. I won't be going anywhere, the UK Mercedes forums seem to be rubbish from what i've seen so far :P , nowhere near the LOC standard
  6. cheers guys. @ Kam -I too have been in one of the old style ones and like you say, build qulaity was VERY poor, cheap and tacky. The new mercs really do seem to have come a long way. The interior in this feels top notch and really well bolted together, not to mention that there seems to be hardly any use of plastic inside. I suppose only time will tell how good the qulaity is. I hope it lasts like my IS. The interior on that is like brand new still, despite it getting on to nearly 10 years old! Only when changing cars has it made me realise how good the 1st gen IS is. When they were being bought brand new, when they first came out, they really must have been miles ahead of the competition in terms of quality.
  7. Well after nearly 4 years of ownership of my IS200 I am now leaving the Lexus fold. I considered looking at a new IS, but for some reason, I didn't have that urge to go and get one. I'd like to say thanks to all that have helped in the past. I'm still going to keep coming on here, even if its only to watch you all bicker in the iPhone thread! :D All being well, I’m selling my car to a member on here (ill let them disclose themselves, should the wish) and wish them muchos happy motoring. Onto my new car…. I’ve decided to go got a new Mercedes CLC 180k Sport. I think its one of those cars that’s not to everyone’s taste, but more importantly to me, is that I really liked it. B) Here are come pics…. It’s basically and updated version of the old coupe, so doesn’t share the new chassis of the new C Class unfortunately. I’ve read several reviews and most of them are a bit harsh if you ask me. They say its not great to drive (I think that they are getting at the fact that it’s marketed as a sports coupe, but doesn’t really have sports car handling), but as a cruiser its great. In fact I think it drives and rides better than my IS. It comes with decent standard kit such as, leather seats, auto wipers, auto mirrors, auto headlights, parking sensors, cruise control, bluetooth stereo/phone kit, iPod connection etc and for the deal I am getting I’m really chuffed to bits. Lets hope i don't regret moving from the Lexus brand have have lots of reliability issues.......
  8. i reckon he will like it as its a bit more 'power over precision', if you get what i mean.
  9. Sounds odd indeed. I'm currently hunting for a Z4 at the moment. There are lots about, but need to sort out exactly how much i have to spend and B) do my research on the car
  10. how was the weekend? any good deals? i didnt get time to get down
  11. I loved the Corvette. I liked all 3 to be honest.
  12. Think im going to be getting rid of my IS shortly, although its getting on a bit, but still in really good nick. Think its up to the 120k mark now, but had cambelt done at 100k, new discs, pads and tyres recetnly. Full LSH to 80k, independant services from 80k onwards, all receipts etc. Mines an silver IS200 sport with factory sat nav. The only problem is that it has several stone chips, and a small rust area on the bonnett. Had it looked at and told it can easily be corrected as it is only surface damage at the moment. In fact i must get it sorted! Sorry for the plug...... :P
  13. yeh they must be desperate to invite me! haha. Sadly i didnt confirm my invite as i was away. May just pop down anyway as im considering replacing my car.

  15. Well done Hamilton, couldnt believe it when Glock started going backwards. lol As for the flashing light, i think it only has to be on when you are running wet tyres, hence why Glocks wasnt.
  16. i have often thought the same shianjer and just put it down the characteristics. Drove the gf TT for the first time the other day and the brakes didnt feel too disimilar
