  1. Good to meet up with you peeps at the show today. Very nice getting the VIP treatment for flashing the membership card too! :D Free snacks, drinks, beer...... and a comfy lounge to socialise in - very civilised!
  2. Personally I like the Geodessy - it is mounted low out of sight from outside the car, so not bothered how it looks.... it has been around longest so has the biggest database and most users (adding to that database) - and the Plus has features such as only beeping if you are actually over the limit, so if you are sat in a queue it doesn't drive you nuts bleeping away, it is speed sensitive so gives you a longer warning if you are travelling faster..... if you are under the limit, it gives one beep to alert you, then is quiet (so long as you remain under the limit) but still displays the indicator lights.
  3. EBC pads don't last long. I had stock Honda pads on my CRX for 8,000 miles and 3 track days. I cremated a set of EBCs after 1,500 miles and one track day!!! :o Mintex are better - Colin at Motorsport world is competitive with the prices.
  4. Isn't it just like all walks of life though - there will be people who are good at their job, and those who are not good at it. Good policemen, and poor ones. It is short sighted and immature to state 'I hate all policemen' - cripes - there are thousands of them, all individuals, all people, all different.
  5. I have already mentioned the club to them and passed on Steve's contact details....... so if anyone isn't already Gold and they don't want to miss the chance of getting on a future Top Gear show....... best join up quick sharp!! :P
  6. I managed to be completly hidden by JC while he was discussing the Focus - so no-one got to see me mouthing 'cheap and nasty' at the camera.... hmmmm perhaps that was why that angle was used! :D Scooby shot - the bit when I thrust my left breast to show the Honda-R logo, not a scooby owner thank you very much!!! Also seemed to hit the cutting room floor. lol
  7. Room for two more??? Myself and Phil will make it along this saturday too - you still got my mobile number Claire??? Must pop along to the Ford stand to point and laugh at the Ford @RSe Focus.
  8. Have we an Amber Gambler amongst us???
  9. I'll be there - but going on one of the Press days when it is less crowded..... my tickets can be extended though so I may make another appearence on a later date too.....
  10. Another Donny regular - my first was '88 when Maiden headlined - joined by Kiss, DLRoth, Megadeth, GNR, Slayer, Helloween - happy days!! Best hmmmmmm - too many - I enjoyed the 'close contact' being sat on the stage at a (don't laugh) TigerTails gig - and getting chatted up by one of the band members at the bar - lol........... Donington with Whitesnake headlineing, Thunder, BCrows, Poison (who were v poor) etc. I too saw Steven Tyler and J Page steal the stage - class!!! Seeing G'n'R in Sydney was pretty special too - taking my little cousin to her first rock gig. Aetosmith are such a great band and pure entertainers - as for Tyler - how old? How fit?!!!!??
  11. I think the point thay Jim is making (and I agree) is that has it become acceptable that bodily functions are entertainment?? If so - how long before we have the 'biggest log' or 'highest urination' as the next stage of childrens 'entertainment'. I don't think for one second that Jim is putting it up high on the agenda of world issues - and if it was an adult programme - then yes I agree, exercise your right to choose by switching off! However if this is presented as kids TV - even if you were 'bid nasty daddy' and turned it off - their friends at school are likely to have seen it and replicate. I am sure that we are intelligent enough to produce better entertainment for our future than 'belching competitions' - why make our kids into crass teenage larger louts before their time.......
  12. I agree Matthew! Although even before I took delivery of my IS, I had a gripe that a 12 year old 2.0 Prelude delivers more power from its engine than the IS200 - I certainly am not concerned that ickle hot hatches are quicker...... of course they are, but that is all they are - completely different market and priorities! The IS200 is a very good car, and I like it a lot. Its failing are that it isn't powerful enough - just as it starts to get sweet, the rev limiter quicks in, and it is heavy on fuel. But it is a refined and good mile muncher, distinctive looking, nice fun handling, well balanced.... a good alrounder and classier alternative to the usual 'rep' choices of the 3-series and Passat.
  13. Steve - I am a Honda fan, I appreciate engineering.... why would I look for something so crude as forced induction to increase performance!!
  14. Lol - I can't tell you what I was looking for when I stumbled across that.... top secret!!! :eyes:
  15. No - but I remember the Horace games..... Horace and the Spiders.... Horace goes Skiing - lol
  16. Noooo - why use a Lexus (a badly manipulated one at that) to advertise what must be right up near the top of all tacky 'add-ons' http://www.sunamiturbo.com/
  17. That came out a bit later though didn't it? - along with the Vortex thing. I upgraded to a ZX Spectrum 48 (rubber keyboard) and played JetPac, Manic Miner and anything by Ultimate Play the game........ Underwurld was soooo cool!!
  18. Red - Tuesday 8th October, head up the A64 to York, Elmbank Hotel, 7.15 for 7.30pm start. Ron Drake of Cobbetts Solicitors is doing a presentation on Employment Law. There has been a myriad of changes in the past few years (from UK and Europe). Will be an interesting presentation for employers and employees. It is a FREE presentation organised by the York and District branch of CIMA - I am the branch secretary and if you just say that you had a verbal invitation from me (Sam Ashton) you will be made very welcome. Dennis or Tim will be chairing the event as I unfortunately will be a few hundred miles south on business.
  19. I assume all open - so nothing to stop smells getting to you. :?:
  20. Cripes - I can remember when the Atari 2600 was cutting edge and fended off Intelivision !!! Ohhh yes - remember teenage drooling in front of the TV when he emerged at the end of the video all ragged and in need of a hug..... Darn - you mean these are not fashionable anymore??? Cool stuff !!! Wonder if you can buy the old arcade machines cheap now - would make a nice addition to go with the pool table etc in the games room..... Screwballs - wow - there is a blast from the past. Did anyone else have an Ice Cream van that sold ice cream cones with a teddy bear shaped lolly stuck in it?
  21. I use my garage for the car. Building another garage for one of the other cars! I actually need to build a huge garage with ensuite house! :eyes: :tumble:
  22. I'm sorry - but I disagree. There are many things we would all agree are wrong, but some sicko would argue "It's about the liberty to do what you want to do" - Coccain users? Dog fights? Child abusers? I am not putting hunting in the same class - but I am sure you see what I mean. The fox population declined during the war years (when there was no hunting), nature has her own way of exercising control. Plus the amount of foxes bred for the hunt go against this argument. I think the fact that people are killing for pleasure is what sickens. When you delve deeper and learn more about how the dogs are trained, cubbing, and the life span of the hunting dog - it doesn't get any prettier. Anyway - I don't think we should discuss political issues on here - not the place and issues like this tend to get heated.
