  1. i know its blasphemy, but id have the m3 - think the 3 series coupes/ convertbles look sharp, and the is-f would have looked better if stuck more to the 250 shape. :shutit: (i realise the debate is about which is faster- but was just a thought :shutit: :shutit: )
  2. ahh sorry didnt notice that before- looks like it is off for next month, which is a pain as its a very convenient meet for north london - as sam says with any luck no one will check the website and come down any way.lol
  3. Cheers for the reply yemgi. :) Some people (niraj lol ) have suggested that my clutch is on the way out... but others have tested it in 3rd (and 4th and 5th) and on hills and have said its ok - so not too sure, also in this case the revs are rising with the speedo -just in a quick burst after putting my foot down. Any more thoughts are welcome- but i have noticed its got alot better after going back to higher octane fuel- as last week i used a tank of regular (wasnt shell or bp) and it was alot more jerky then...
  4. was there till about quater to ten, didnt seem as bad as some of the previous ones - there was even one of those mobile CCTV vans there for a while- although the crowd was getting a bit close to the action towards the end. perhaps thats a flyer from when they last cancelled it?
  5. hi all, iv noticed some trouble with my acceleration over the last few days and im not sure whats going on… what iv found is when accelerating in higher gears -on trying to increase acceleration (while trying to overtake for example) there is a sharp increase in revs, such that after a second of smooth acceleration the revs spike (i.e go up a few along with the power) and then fall back to smooth acceleration. wouldnt have thought its the clutch or the sc belt ect as the speed goes up with the revs, hence i get the feeling its something electronic- but any thoughts will be really helpful. cheers aj
  6. i should be able to come down :)
  7. you gotta love his comedy roles, happy gilmore was a classic! in fact i reckon some of his films get funnier the more times you see them (as with alot of his other saturday night live crews' films).... hard to imagine him in a serious role- will have to check this new one out...
  8. id say go for the s/c if its not too over budget, as long as your not planning to hammer it round corners (while you save up for the coilovers) i think youll have more fun in the meantime..and if you really do find yourself slipping you could always put on a set of springs for a while. or else you could go for some lower end coils like tein type basics - which iv got- they were only about £4/500 and iv had no probs- even when throwing it in to corners....
  9. Not an auto but heres my dyno results incase you missed them. Also two things iv noticed since the sc was fitted - firstly it seems to be running a bit better now its been in for a while - like it needed wearing in or something...and second the petrol used makes quite a difference - after two tanks of tesco 99 it feels noticeably quicker. (using v-power before).
  10. Ha ha, my bad- all 4 IS200s in my office are/were pre-2001 so i thought the non-electric passenger seat was the norm....
  11. ...those are some serious doughnuts!
  12. Saw two top lexuses in that area recently, first was a silver aristo numberplate V300*** yesterday evening near ikea tottenham- looked v.clean! Second chatted to a chap named alan, in a tte IS300, briefly on the A406/woodford av round about this morning- i think he liked my exhausts. B) :P - also v. tidy looking car!
  13. sounds like you had a wicked day- reminds me of when we were up there- was a really nice little village (+ we had excellent weather ) plus steve/gord and crew were top blokes. shame about the trouble moffet- i know the feeling! not to worry im sure daves lot will get it sorted quick like they did for mine. :)
  14. Congratulations mate! :)
  15. looks wicked mate, especially parked in the grass -the green contrasts well and it makes it look extra low.
  16. Those look excellent - good choice! As for the lowering id say try Tein basic coilovers, not that much more than springs and theyre height adjustable (no dampening though)- iv had them for a year with no probs.
  17. IMHO one of the best games for the wii is super monkey ball!! - Caution - its very addictive!
  18. Hi all! Was planning on installing a B&M short shifter this weekend and just wanted to know which parts typically need lubricating and whats the best thing to use? i.e will WD40 do? Cheers Aj :)
  19. Nice name! ...(Anuj is my name too -Aj is just a nick name!) Welcome to LOC- oh and nice car! :D
  20. Hi mate, Wasn’t really worried about the safety of the standard TTE setup (esp. not about it blowing up! lol)- definitely feels like a good kit, was more wondering if it could be safely improved on with an engine management system - and what the benefits might be And as for the dyno results ;was just checking if my car is different from the norm ie fuelling not too different from other peoples ect- as I thought that the power results wouldn’t vary much from the TTE figures, hadn’t really considered margin of error in the dyno and temp differences ect… makes sense though.
  21. I might be interested in group buy for these, but bare in mind i think that they require that you ship your OEM headlights to them as an exchange.
  22. Cheers for the comments guys. :D @ Lee –yup changed the spring, but unfortunately it didn’t seem to have much of an effect, so we had a play around with the ECU and that did the trick! :) @ Jamie- you’ll def. enjoy it - be prepared to be putting your foot down a lot! So it looks like 196 at the fly is normal – is that the kind of dyno figures the people with single back boxes have got? …Was a bit unsure myself as I was hoping to see 200+… Also I have been told that the engine is running extremely lean and that an engine management system would improve the performance noticeably, has anyone (S/C’d) got one on? (with standard injectors)
