  1. As above it's a 4 speed, only the IS300 had a 5 speed auto.
  2. That does sound like a poor showing in terms of prepping the car - although my brother's XF was even worse, other than refurbing two wheels (badly I might add) they hadn't touched anything else. If the pads look low ask for them to be replaced, my dealer once told me that they replace the pads on used cars when they still had a surprising amount still on them - can't remember the exact figure but think it was 60%. But yeah if they create any problems it will be time to ask for an exchange
  3. Those are surprisingly expensive! I suppose the only justification can be the limited numbers for the IS-F, but still that's quite a lot for what are effectively standard brake pads.
  4. I agree with Ormi, that car needs to go back to where you bought it from!
  5. I think that's why they take pictures now - but may have a chance of working I suppose. They'd argue that the ticket wasn't in full view so your word against theirs, not sure how it would turn out.
  6. Looks like a good finish, how much did they charge for that? Also can they keep the car, how long did they need?
  7. Not on an IS200 It's the fronts that have had a problem on the IS200, aggressive inner tyre wear was a characteristic of Lexus's original settings which was cured by WIM and later updated by Lexus themselves also.
  8. Same here, ever since I've been having the geo done by WIM no problems at all. Just had new rear tyres fitted at WIM last week, and a geo after 3 years, geo was slightly out understandably but front tyres have perfectly even wear, and still have about 4-5mm on them after 20k miles. I would highly recommend getting your car to WIM or one of its approved centres (there's a map of them on their website) to get your car set up correctly - hate to be negative but I can't see the battle against Lexus UK going anywhere in particular.
  9. If you plan to keep it for a while and you're not a business user it's best to go for the large petrol engined cars as they are ridiculously cheap and you can do amazing deals on them (because the dealers can't shift them)
  10. It depends how much bass you are looking for really, the ML system is brilliant but isn't as bass heavy as some others - haven't tried the CT200h of course, but I've tried the ML in the IS250 and it isn't as bassy as the harman kardon system in our Merc. If you want more probably best to speak to an audio installer about potentially adding a sub in the boot?
  11. Just looked in the accessories brochure (LINK) and it costs £250 so not really worthwhile!
  12. I think the CT has a homelink garage door opener as an accessory option, that could be an option :)
  13. Which grille are we talking about? Is it the 3 slat chrome one?
  14. No worries mate :) Yep agree about the reliability question mark with the XF, on the whole I think they're ok but there are a few common faults - we'll have to see how it goes over the next few years!
  15. A lot of homes in the US (including ours) have one of these outside the front door to put the key in :)
  16. Don't know if they're worth it but definitely look awesome! Worth making sure whatever wheels you have on will clear them though before buying if you are about to :winky:
  17. When you say senior management do you mean Lexus GB? If so that's part of the explanation, they offer quite a large commission when selling on those cars so there is a fair amount of room for the dealer to play around with the sales price. Do you mean they put a higher price on the invoice than the actual sale price of the car? If so that's a little dodgy, never come across that before - it's quite normal for them to fiddle about with the discount and p/ex value but not to just inflate all the figures. The only reason for doing it would be to make the headline total sales figure look more impressive but that seems like a strange thing for dealerships to do.
  18. Congratulations mate, lovely car in the best colour combo! Yeah doubt there's anything sinister going on, they're just having trouble shifting these large engined cars at the moment and deals are being done to move on stock - was looking a few weeks ago at a 10 plate XFR with 10k miles for £43k (a car of £65k+ new I think) so it's happening everywhere! Have to admit though you've got a really good deal there, the car seems competitively priced to begin with and you've got a fair amount chucked in with it as well!
  19. Lol, I remembered that it was based on the Sport from when I bought my car all those years ago, but found the spec sheet with a quick google of "IS200 Sportcross spec"
  20. Nope just one trim level, and it was essentially the same spec as an IS200 Sport so it had an LSD and all the other goodies you've mentioned. Bizarrely though it came with 16" wheels which didn't really make sense. This might help if you want the exact spec: LINK
  21. When there's strong sun the solar sensor boosts the cold air coming through the face vents (think it's just the centre ones but not sure) Compare how it behaves on a sunny day and a dull day and you'll see what I mean :)
  22. Don't quote me on this but I think one is the light sensor for the auto headlights and the other is the solar sensor for the A/C.
  23. That's quite impressive, was that some seriously gentle driving as that's what it would take to get 400 miles out of my 200 auto!
  24. I've definitely heard of that happening in the past, and that's quite a coincidence! Can't remember what happened next though.......
