  1. thats a good question, i'm not sure. How do I know if there is still a signal?
  2. This is an aside, but why does my satnav get quite confused when its in central london? is that normal (because all the streets are so close together) or something i should have checked?
  3. I guess that must be because they're now clearly overapplying the lacquer ;)
  4. Is it not built into the unit in the boot next to the spare wheel?
  5. I had my wheels replaced last week with two of them being quite severly kerbed. They paid no attention to it at all, so as long as your car is still under warranty, go have them replaced B) Btw its unbelivable how easy the refurbs are to clean! The dirt kinda drops off so easily with just water
  6. I thought the way to disarm the interior sensors was to lock and unlock the doors 5 times, using the switch on the driver's door Hope it isn't the other way cos I always simply hit the lock button on the remote 3 or 4 times to make sure that it does it all without me having to stand there and listen carefully to hear the deadlocks go

has anyone tried any run-flats on their IS?
  8. the sport also has 17" wheels unless you get the styling kit, doesn't it? If I had had a manual, i think i would have bought a sport too, but based on those two cars there, i'd pick the SE because i don't think that they should be the same price considering the sport has an extra 10000 miles on it
  9. I didn't know you could get install LPG on an IS. So it costs max £2000? Can you get a powershift grant for the installation? Yeah fuel prices are getting ridiculous now
  10. I recently had the pleasure of an '04' courtesy car and I must say I did really like having full leather, and although there is a little sliding, I did think that it still gripped quite well considering that it was all leather. I'm not sure if it was just me, but I also thought that the seats were more comfortable, are the seats different in anyway? I liked the grey stitching on the wheel too (maybe I'm crazy). Liked the colour of the new wheels (on a dark car), but still don't like the design and must be a nightmare to get in between all those spokes to clean them. Really don't like the new silver bits, they all look really fake as though someone took the standard plates and sprayed them silver with a can of spray paint, and why is the plastic surrounding the tape deck black now, it really looks odd. Also, don't like the silver bits surrounding the instrument dials, looks really cheap. I also agree that the new blue is far too dark, especially with no other shades of blue available. Besides the full leather, it did feel good to get back into my car again (having said that I would prob also give it all up for the leather!) I didn't have any trouble with rattles and the like, but it was a new car after all. Was surprising to get back into mine though and for it to feel exactly the same despite being an '02'. Hope the quality remains :winky:
  11. if you fitted an aftermarket alarm and immobiliser (e.g. clifford) would that not solve the problem? although i'm not too sure how much that costs, and you'd also need to carry an extra keyfob ;)
  12. Yeah i've seen the same thing. I still have two of the original tyres on my car, and they are Dunlop SP Sport 9000s and there is a clear half centimetre or so protrusion from the wheel. However, the two newer tyres i have on the car still say MFS on them, but now sit flush with the wheel and are providing no protection (i say that through experience )
  13. are you sure chipsaway can't do it? my brother did a very similar thing and chipsaway came and sorted it out, not exactly sure what they did, but it involved a very large red lamp (which i guess was quite hot :P ). Don't think it cost anywhere near £170 either hope you get it sorted soon
  14. sorry haven't replied to this in ages however, i now really want to do this, not too bothered bout getting an absolute bargain, the £220 sounds fine. So this works really well? Where can i buy it? And can i just take it to a decent audio installer and ask them to fit it for me?
  15. In case my earlier question sounded a little stupid, that's why i asked :P
  16. do the keys get charged when they're in the ignition? does that mean i should occasionally use the spares to ensure that they don't die?
  17. This is a little strange to me because I often get the opposite reaction to this. BMW, Mercedes, Audi, etc are all pretty household names, and because of this, everyone kinda knows roughly how much they cost. However, in this country, because Lexus is fairly unknown, it holds a lot more cred when u say 'I drive a Lexus' and also because it looks, drives and rides fantastic! I have never felt, or don't think I ever will feel that I'd rather have a BMW, and the only reason I bought this is because it was cheaper. The fact that it was, was just even more of a bonus! Anyone who does feel that way, should go buy a BMW, (and get a life :P jus kiddin) and stop being a cheapskate
  18. personally, i don't really like it, because i think it would stick out maybe if the whole thing was silver, might look good on a silver car
  19. you're headlamps are on all the time then? yeah that should be easy for them to adjust and the stereo shouldn't do that either, a 2 second delay might be acceptable, but a 2 minute delay, thats just ridiculous
  20. oh my ***, are you serious? a truck actually fell over sideways onto ur car? can't believe you just got out and walked away but really glad to hear it
  21. really sorry to hear that. similar thing happened to me about a month ago when another old guy just reversed into the front of my car wouldn't just put it down to old people, just too many :tsktsk: drivers on the road with no one doing anything about it
  22. I have an HBH-65 which works really well with my P900 and any other sonyericsson phone (havent tried it with any others) and would definitely recommend it because its probably the best headset out there you'll get a great deal off ebay
  23. ok, so the refurbs are the same as the originals, just lacquered more, thats fine then, i'll just take them so i guess no ones had any luck with using this to upgrade to 18s or anything by paying the difference? When i spoke to Lexus GB, they said it was nothing to do with them, and if the dealer wishes to do so, they can. So some dealer must've been happy to do this? :winky:
  24. I take it then that when they refurb them, they don't diamond cut the edges again - that's a little annoying, because they look great at night. That leaves either keeping the old corroding ones, refurbish them myself (at a cost), or take the free inferior ones great! ;)
  25. so they don't replace with new ones? are they the same in appearance? That explains why they won't upgrade then, guess they can't do much with a refurbished set of alloys
