finally got round to talking to edgware road about the caliper corrosion and they have agreed to replace them for me, woo-hoo! however, they won't paint them for me cos they don't want to be liable for any brake failure and they also said that they have replaced calipers for a few people and the new calipers don't seem to corrode anymore. Has anyone else had any experience with this? also, what colour are the calipers when they are fresh and new?

yeah its on a thermostat, reaches a certain temp (dunno what it is), then switches off, comes back on when temp drops again and so on.... needing heated seats at this time of year? maybe you got the climate temp too low

i know there's been a lot of talk about stone chips already on here, but i was just thinking whether its ok for lexus to be getting away with this problem my car isnt even a year old and it practically never goes on the motorway, but the front of it looks like its been on the motorway all day everyday for the last 3 years (maybe a slight exaggeration ;) ) i just wanted to know if anyone has confronted the dealer about this and got any favourable reply (tried searching, couldnt find anything, but not very good though)

they look like new! cant see properly in the photo but are they exactly the same finish as the originals, with the shiny bit around the edge of the wheel?

cant say i've ever had that problem, car starts instantly but as someone said earlier, sometimes when the car's been left in the cold for a while, it doesnt start as instantly anything to worry about?

yeah they do read more when the car been parked in the sun (but most other cars do that too) however, it was 31 degrees in the middle of the day yesterday so i guess it was right about one thing, it was HOT! B)

thought i saw an earlier post telling us not to use that, and also it costs even more! thats about right, i get about 300 miles to each tank (off 65 of the available 70 litres) isnt that less than 24mpg?

sorry to hear that mate, you do seem to have all the bad luck some of these people shouldn't be allowed on the road, not only can they not drive, they then can't face up and accept they can't drive hope its all sorted soon

i am quite happy with the security of the IS, and so are the insurance companies (hence the low ins group), but it is possible that those other cars are more secure simply because they are all much newer so may have raised the game slightly this is similar to crash tests, where a few years ago a 4 star car, is now a 2 star car i'm sure the new IS will be back at the top of the league though :winky:

is that true bout it running only on 12 valves when just crusing around town? What exactly does the VVTi actually do?

is optimax just a fancy name for super unleaded? and can't you use super unleaded in any unleaded car for better performance? obviously this isnt the case but i'd like to know the reason if anyone knows

was definitely not going to do any DIY on the car (i dont even want to paint the calipers myself :duh: ) but i'll bear that in mind when i ask about the installation however, can a screen be roof-mounted then because wont the fitting be in the way of the sunroof? or at least the sunshade?

want more bass, but dont wanna lose any boot space, so gonna find out what my options are. has anyone mounted a sub on the rear shelf (a free-to-air one)? does it work in that position? also thinkin bout puttin a tv in the roof but wanna see how much it costs first for installation, etc. what happened?

it is CAT1 approved, so its all your really going to need and as far as i know, it has won some award (whatcar i think) for its security

why do you want to take the L off? only looks right when cars lowered to the ground with some funky bodykit on and 19" chrome rims, cos then it doesnt look like a lexus anyway or is that what you've done?

Dark Color On Is200 Too Much Delicate?

i use zymol and it works pretty well so do these scratch removers the only problem that i see with having a dark car (mines blue) is that there are stone chips all over the front of the car and thats one thing you cant polish out! -
means you have to do a lot of walking from company to company - hence leg work

is that just a supercharger that has increased that performance? that time is pretty quick if that is the case, why don't they make an IS200 Kompressor, i think it would frighten those little C200 Kompressors away!
