  1. Just been for a quick spin in Jamie's, how can I put this...? F*** me mine's slow :( Sounds awesome too, oh how I wish I had more money
  2. I was only told of a partial service history unfortunately, and the car was previously owned and maintained by VOSA prior to being sold to the previous owner and then me, Lexus have confirmed that it was serviced by them last at 40k and the guys I bought say they serviced it at 50k, they say they are in the process of chasing it up, I will be chasing it up again tomorrow
  3. hmmm, my upgrade was going to include going manual, but i know i'd miss being lazy driver, well its not til next year anyway so i'll think about it nearer the time, thanks for the info, sorry to stray way
  4. I can't spare that kind of cash at the moment, plus mines auto, would it still have the desired effect? I'm after upgrading the car in 12 months or so, so i'm definately holding out...
  5. I can confirm already that Jamie looks like that now, he just txt to ask if I wanted go for a spin with him (he lives just round the corner) and says that it f*****' flies!
  6. I am joking, I couldn't deliberately ram everything behind me, lol I did hit the fiesta once tho, smashed the grille straight off it, but no damage to the Lexus, the bollards did leave two small dents in the bumper, which are very minor tho, all I can say is practice makes perfect, I have an auto with a twitchy accellerator, the slightest move of the pedal (espesially in reverse) and i'm away, so my reversing technique (uphill where I live) with practice is getting better all the time, with the silly interior mirror and limited view out of the rear window Jamie just txt, he's well happy with the S/C and he's comin showing me in a bit :D
  7. I had trouble reversing when I got mine, and had hit 2 bollards within a couple of weeks, very minor marks, but marks on the bumper all the same, the only car I normally reverse upto outside my house is my brother's Omega or a battered Fiesta, so I simply reverse slowly and stop when I hit them
  8. I'll be contacting the previous owner for mine towards the end of this week and i'll be putting some choice words to the public about Adsheads car sales in Westhoughton too
  9. I never thought about that actually... back to the drawing board
  10. in which case this doesn't give me much hope for mine either, may I ask then, are lexus known for deceiving buyers? my 60k service is due soon anyway (as i've previously mentioned several times, lol)i'll be having this service done thoroughly and completely, just for piece of mind.
  11. A duplicate service history should be just as acceptable (I too am awaiting one and their response on this issue is slow) however, if the car was serviced anywhere other than lexus, your dealer will not have this info, so hope the last service was done by lexus if any of the others were not
  12. make sure the badge on the back says 300 instead of 200 :D i'm not sure if the major service on the 300 is at the same year/mileage as the 200s, but i'd check other things like even tyre wear and the cd player etc, these usual niggly things will annoy you most if you only find them after you've bought the car, is it from a dealer? what kind of warranty are they offering?
  13. the site I checked for fitment stated the speedo reading compared to actual speed needed to be within 2.5% so I don't really want to risk nearly 5% thanks for the help with my query, much appreciated
  14. 225/45w17 on the front and 245/45w17 rear
  15. what i'm asking is if I don't change the tyres (the wheels i've seen have tyres already fitted and are almost brand new) how far out will the speedo reading be?
  16. I know that the rear wheels and tyres on the new IS are slightly different size to the front, compared to the old IS, so I have a question, how much difference does it make fitting new IS wheels and tyres to the old IS without changing the tyres over?
  17. Year of Manufacture: 2002 Date first Registered: 2002 Country of Origin: UK (Auto Trader) Model: IS300 Engine: 3.0 6 cylinder Colour code: 051 For Sale £7,450
  18. people don't eat drink or smoke in my car, and they better not fart either...
  19. I have dark green with cream interior, but i'm going to get red with cream when I find one, the one in pob's pic is the nicest i've seen so far, mine is a little older, so the glove box and under the steering column are black Black interiors in my opnion are just too normal, since pretty much every car i've been in has been black or dark, so the cream was simply a very nice change for me
  20. Happy birthday Rod, Cake's in the post, have a good one
  21. Yeh I think so, I didn't notice before yesterday, and I was out all day without the car, when I got home, there it was, but I could have missed it cos of the rain... can't have anything these days :(
  22. have a good look on the bumper and bonnet for stone chips too, there will be some, just see if its not too bad, check the service history for the cambelt too, a lot of owners were under the impression (given by the owners manual) that this only needed doing at 100k or 10 years, but its not, its 60k and 6 years, as you may have already seen, make sure its been done, or get more discount :D
  23. Thats very nice indeed, is there anything else done inside the car?
  24. Its bad enough that T-cut doesn't quite cover it... Any alternative ideas?
