phew!!! panic over! i didnt realise that a new caliper needs to be bled and thats what my problem was! all sorted and didnt even need to take the wheel off, full lock and can get in behind the wheel.. so thats new tyres all round, new front discs n pads,new caliper and a trip to wim booked in for tuesday.. Also finished rewiring the battery and redoing the big three as wasnt happy with em. I went for a quick test drive without the front part of the airbox on and it sounded sweet!!

well i could def be an extra in a60's hiphop video!

db is surprising mate, what sounds louder may not be!!! hmm,prob because the ports are through the ski hatch. so you could have cancellation issues.. be good to see you at the meet..

you get the brakes on your car sorted? :mat: not yet, aaron couldnt make it somy neighbour whos a mechanic for VW gave me a homemade kit with fluid in a sealed container and a pipe togo over the nipple. only needs one person so will try this afternoon.. im rewiring my ICE..got to get the priorities right!!

tbh i was a little dissapointed with mine.. it scratches very easily, far more than i would expect and the engraving is poor.. i guess you get what you pay for! if i had paid anymore than i did i wouldnt be happy..

Are you sure you didn't inadvertently install a free trial version of the paid-for AVG software, which has a lot more in it therefore is a lot bigger ? nope.. 100 its the free version as it keeps asking if we want to 'upgrade' to the full version. Kaspersky is what alot of it bods recommend. Norton was a Pain to use but i beleive the new version is a lot better..

is it a genuine item? i could be wrng and the oics are poor but it looks like its all one piece?

LOC to the rescue! so i still have loads of fluid left in, its halfway between max and min.. i only took one hose of but clamped it while it was off.. im guessing cause i didnt tighten it properly the air is in that line only... if i catch the fluid in a bottle can i just poor it back in? can i mix new fluid with old? just need to find somebody to help me now as the GF is away for the weekend.. anybody near nottingham with some time free tomorrow? i'll buy lunch n a beer!!

i have to agree with stav. the old version was perfect, used next to no resource on any PC i saw it on. I installed the new version on a mates, admittedly old, desktop and it crippled it. Had to turn it off to get the computer to do anything.. Kaspersky seems to get good reviews and can be bought for about £25 fortunately i now use a MACBOOK mostly so im happy!!

this is a really simple sound off, how loud it is.. Im not sure on the classes yet but prob rookie, street , extreme based on no of subs, it normally works well. There will be no professional competitors so everybody is in with a chance. However, as i mentioned before, its VERY hard to get bass in a saloon so i have asked for a Saloon class which should make it nice and straightforward. (might need to put a clause in on no of subs here too though) SQ is very subjective and all of the SQ comps come with very long rulebooks but at the end of the day they just do it based on the judges ear making it very subjective IMO. I could ask one of the guys to do this specifically for LOC if thats what the majority wants? would be based on SQ, build quality and trickery/gadgets? the best thing of all is that its free to give it a go!

I took my car into lexus a few weeks ago to take advantage of a free oil and filter change.. :D when i collected they advised of a sticky caliper which also resulted in new pads at a cost of £780! I checked with a local garage and they advised that it wasnt that bad would get worse so i bit the bullet and bought a caliper and new discs n pads.. I decided to do the work myself as i have done calipers before so thought no problem. However, i made a schoold boy error and didnt tighten the nut formthe brake line to the caliper sufficently. Not knowing this i moved of the drive to test and the brakes were spongyso i kept pumping thinking it justed needed chance as it was new.. not so, o checked and it had leaked a load of fluid, so back n the drive and tightened it up.. This is where i need the help, there are doesnt appear to be anyleaks, i have took the wheel of three times now and no sign of any fresh brake fluid but its still the same, spongy and wont stop unless i pump them and then it works for a second.. What could be the problem? have i got air in there and if so how do i fix? Can anybody help please?

if we can get 6 members to attend, we will get a club stand. if we can get 6 is200's / saloon cars to enter the 'sound off' competition the they will create a Saloon class for us (its very difficult to compete against hatchbacks) further info will follow as i get more..

The w6 is my pick of the JL subs.. was a tough decision bewtween this and the Mb quart ones i went for.. 500/1 is the perfect match for this sub, just the right amount of power and fantastic SQ. Slash series amps are one of the best amps out there for quality and power. 300/4 again is one of the best 4 ch amps although can be a little pricy.. you will be able to get all of this for just over a grand leaving you some cash to get a good 0awg power kit and some nice comps for the front and an upgraded battery. The power cap is useless so i would ditch that.. for installing, you can point towards the ski hatch but it wont sound right.. in lots of experimenting the subs sound best pointing upwards or failing that towards the boot with the 6x9's out.. second thought on this: if you want an alternative with no loss of quality consider the MB quart PAB2100 amp. its only 2 ch but its 100w per channel and keeps up with the JL in terms of SQ. you could get two of these if you insist on using rears. this would work out cheaper than the 300/4 too and leave you a bit left over to spend on some good front components.

^^ especially if you tint the windows!! i have a set like this, stick on, and im very happy with em.. i bought from Steve at the club shop for £30...

At the last Midlands meet there was a few ICE installs and people looking for advice so i though this may be of interest to some.. 19th July @ BassJunkies Open Day, Wolverhampton, WV11 3PX Some details are still TBC but there will be other car clubs there and more than likely a 'sound off' or bass competition and massive discounts on equipment tooso if your looking buy any ice stuff it could save you ££££££'s There were 4 Is200's, a soarer and a GS there last year, inc none club members but as there we didnt get in early enough we just ended up parking two of us together. It would be great to get a few members together and have a club section. i can think of a few members with systems that would do us proud and even a few none ice cars would be great! I could even arrange a best lexus ICE award! For those that would be interesting in just having a look around there is also a nice pub up the road next to the cinema with a massive car parkso it could almost be two meets in one.. i will post more details as they are available but if anybody is interested in attending please add your names here so i can get the ball rolling.. needless to say i will be there!!
