  1. i have been with churchill now for quite a few years and always come in the cheapest or neglibile difference that wouldnt make it worth it!! have 5 years no claims protected, 1 claim on my previous car,(stole the stereo and damaged the door and inside), 3 points.. comes in at £570 with £50 xs, free breakdown cover and all the usual trimmings!! been happy with them so far
  2. Thanks guys, I'll give them a go... Cute PDF works great for me... its free and does what u need!! http://www.cutepdf.com/Products/CutePDF/writer.asp
  3. I have had to remove the prices quoted at the request of the company as they can only deal to trade. I am however working on a few options which should solve this and hopefully make this a full plug and play soloution! ( and shouldnt affect the price too much if at all!) As for the tv tuner, there is a PAL version that should be aviailiable v shortly so that may be of interest.
  4. have been looking at the wiring and believe option1 can bet wired to auto switch to the camera when reverse is engaged.
  5. Well... it seems that these are the rrp prices for over 10 units so unless we get more than that there may not be any bargaining power!! the other route i am looking into is buying these as trade and then selling on. Just waiting confirmation on a few queries from them on this.. If anybody knows where we can get the connectors that plugs in the nav unit then i may be abe to get a complete plug and play system working on any of the options!
  6. as long as somebody can comfirm that it is rgb sync and there is a wiring diagram aviailiable for the nav unit / screen then yes!

  8. I knew i recognised this address!! its a debt collection agency.. they employ very sneaky tactics to get non-responders to get in touch with them!!
  9. So there is finally an ipod/aux in for the oem head units, and like a bus soloutions seem to all arrive at the same time!! like many others on here i have been searching ever since i bought my Lex to convert my sat nav to be able to have other sources run through it ie dvd, ps2 etc... i now believe i have found a relatively cheap and quality soloution.. i am waiting confirmation on these specs but this is what i believe it will do: * allow nav to work as normal by passing through the input box unaffected * auto switch to other sources when they are turned on and manual swithcing. * on/off switch to complety bypass * options for 1 or 2 inputs * reverse camera auto switch mode when reverse is engaged * IR Remote control switching on top option (also has built in tv but is NTSC so wont work in UK!) * can be installed at screen end or at nav dvd end in boot only downside is that you have to spilce into the nav loom but im sure that with the instruction that are supplied and the wiring diagrams that i will be able to put a comprehensive guide to doing this.. so.... the big questions.. How Much? The most expensive option is cheaper than any other option i have seen in retail so bearing in mind that this has the IR remote and TV the other options should come in considerably cheaper. Where is it shipped from? It comes from the good ol UK but has to be specially ordered so may take a few weeks. Has anybody tried it on a lex yet? Not to my knowledge but cant see why it wont work! i am trying to negotiate trade prices ( ) and bulk buys.. so that if there is enough interest then we could do a bulk buy! any interest out there??
  10. valid point! both will still invalidate the warranty though as far as nokia are concerned..
  11. You have 5 goes to input the code correctly, if after 5 attempts its still wrong with phone will go into a suspense mode. The only way around it then would be to use a cable or try taking it a dodgy mobile shop :) I have the N95 After exchanging the first one, T-mobile branded which was terrible (slow, crashed constantly, V poor battery and strange noises in the speaker) the second unbranded is great!. Make sure it is a generic one ie not locked to a network as the networks software makes them really slow. You can unlock a branded one but this invalidates any warranty on it and as Jamie says in the other post its at your own risk! You should be able to get a generic unit form Carphone Warehouse as your upgrade depending on the network (not free advertising but as i work there i know we have them!) but not sure where you would go in dublin.. (my geography is terrible!) i get about two days out of one charge and avg usage. very happy with the phone, great camera, good for music and works great on wifi/3g..
  12. blue can go to any live that works only when the ignition is on.. ie cig lighter or the acc on the diagram ( ithink thats ignition live or it will be Bu +b you will know if its right as it will only work when iggnition is on!) black to any ground and red to perm live such as car battery or the Bu +b (or as above acc) any probs then PM me..
  13. you will need to tap into the speaker line after the amp.. will only come thru one speaker just like the oem sat nav does.. cant remember which colour wires are on the door cpnnector block but can find out i you need this?
  14. A pillar cover just pops off, you may be able to just push the mic lead behind it from the window side without removing it. you can just wire direct to the speakers from the nokia unit..
  15. from what i recall you just attach it to a ground point and it will work fine.. however it may be illegal?? only if I look at it!! Its for my passengers! hehe.. of course it is!! glad you got it workin...
  16. from what i recall you just attach it to a ground point and it will work fine.. however it may be illegal??
  17. Dito. As i work in the trade and supply to Car Audio Direct my comments could be seen as biased. However, they are recognised as the best online retailers with fantastic service. Note: if its pricewars, then hit them up, they can pricematch most of the time (minus that you will find on eBay) Bass Junkies have come a long way in the last few years.. both on price and in their customer service.. would deff say they should be given a try in future...
  18. i have used bass junkies for over 10 years now.. always reliable, good prices.. http://www.bassjunkies.com/index.php?cpage...rch_word=vrx578 £349 so cheaper than what you had paid! Prob best to call the wolverhampton site..
  19. Log book is the V5 vehicle registration documents... i would be worried if i didnt have one!! The DVLA should be able to supply but only if it was infact registered to you.. i think... somebody will correct me if im wrong!!
  20. does it not specify the exact model on the log book?? mine does.. and so does the others i have seen..
  21. isnt that some kind of automatic choke system? sounds normal to me...
  22. we do something similar all the time with serious ice installs but slight;ly differntly.. a good ground as short as possible from the battery to the chassis of the car and then replacing the alternator ground. works for us so the theory sounds good for all other high current elec systems... if it looks untidy im sure it could be routed diffently or make a feature of it??
  23. a sales trainer for the carphone warehouse, Dj and events organiser..
  24. As everybody has said.. its very subjective and down to your choice and budget!! i used to have JBL all round in my last two cars and in the lex.. JBL power 650c nice sound, very bright. Now im using some newbies... MB Quart QSC 216 some of the best speakers i have heard in a long time, well after they broke in which has taken about 4 weeks!!
