just phoned my local toyota garage to ask about servicing my gs as they are listed as a lexus dealer only to be told they charge £75 an hour for lexus and £54 for toyota .i asked if a toyota tech could do my car they refused saying they are not trained to work on lexus ,i then stated that my car was a toyota supra in drag so what is the problem surely it is easier to work on and will save me money.They will not budge at all but the most annoying thing is i have to pay extra £££ for my lexus but still end up with a TOYOTA stamp in the service book , talk about insult to injury.What are your veiws on this i know lexus is a quality brand etc etc but my car is nearly seven years old surely they can make allowances. :(

Had a quote today £300, they take windows out to do it is this right.

Whilst cleaning car today noticed that sport stickers on rear quarter glass know reads --ort one side and s--rt the other it apears my little cherabs have spent the last month pealing them off .Anyone know if this is a lexus main dealer part or can i get them elsewere ,i would realy like ones that go on the outside of window for obvious reasons

beige goe,s better whith interior ,black stands out to much.Had the same thing with my gs ordered black first put them in and it did not look right so re ordered grey .black ones still sitting in boot for a rainy day.

Any good window tinters in kent that can be recomended

I would stick with the 40,s myself .I had a t5 with 35,s and it was a very hard crashy ride .

what % did you go for and have you a rough idea on cost

did not relise you had 10" rears and it would be a shame to get rid of them perhaps you could phone around for a quote you never know might be cheaper than we think .

i am thinking of tinting my windows( gs 300 mk1) can aNYONE TELL ME JUST HOW GOOD THE PRODUCT IS AND WHAT TO GO FOR .Also in your opinion will it suit my car or make it look like a pimp mobile any feedback appreciated.

I was quoted £175 for pirrelis yesterday and £149 for bridgestone your quote of £400 per tyre for michellin must be for the pair surely.

£200 seems a little cheap,check that price includes paint and vat ,if not then its going to be more like £300. plus its only a days work and £200 aint bad for a days work.

I think that the major influx of imports over the last few years must have been good news for car clockers and crash damage repairs. as for british cars you have hpi ,AA,amongst other used car checks .you can also phone previous owners, look at service history ,phone dealers for info if they have had the car to do work on ,check previous mots, etc.as for the import you have nowt every thing is on trust or paper work from japan .Even the dealers get stung i heard of one the other day who imported three cars only to find out they were stolen in japan ,He had to pay the insurance company in japan a premium just so he could keep them .Also it is never a good idea to let someone bring a car to you always buy at their place it is much easier if you need to contact them in the future

funny how when you have young children your views on this change , i have a kid over the road who seems to be able to make my kids beds shake at 10 o ,clock at night with the bass that it kicks out .so yes looks great but why do,s every one else have to hear it to.

why is it that the drivers with fogs on drive like idiots stuck up your rear end, perhaps it makes the car go quicker .In my opinion if it is ent foggy turn them of they are a pain in the **** , It just seems to me that the type of person who has them on all the time is the boy racer won,t stop for anyone type who wheel spins at every turning .

I would change both you never know could solve problem and is the cheapest starting point

When you say splintered do you mean cracked if so i would say this is your prob and should be the first thing to change as very cheap .The only concern is the fact you can smell petrol and should not drive until sorted problem .I take you have checked all of your fuel lines .

I think it is like most warranty claims the more fuss you make the more you get if i was you i would go make a fuss, and if that did not work try a different dealer as i did with my volvo and it saved me £1500 on a new gearbox because the dealer could be bothered to phone head office and argue the case for me.

I am talking about the front indicater lenses they have a yellow look that i would like to make clear. i also want to do the side repeaters like grims post suggests but would like to do fronts first.jac114 the side lenses just clip out put a screwdriver on a peice of cloth or several peices of paper to protect bodywork and prise out indicater.
