  1. Ever since i had the crash in the Lex (09) and had the front repaired i sometimes got a rattle in the drivers door, it only happened niow and then so was not a major a$$ ache, so today i took the door card off and found this floating about the bottom of the door! Doors back together and all works as before, so what is that for?
  2. Try getting someone to push and pull on the bonnet while you pull the leaver in the car.
  3. Your welcome, the wiring can be reconnected to return it back to stock if you needed to, also you can swap back the relay making that stock too, as a foot note you can swap the side indicators to led as they don't affect anything at all. I see you point but every thing can be put back if you ever sell.
  4. Hi Sachin, i have just done the led swap on my is200, If you plan on changing the indicators you will need to swap the relay also as when you change to led the indicators flash twice as fast (like you have a bulb blown), reversing lights are a straight swap but if you swap the brake lights you will get the waring light on the dash saying you have a brake light bulb out, to stop this from happening you need to remove the left hand boot trim to get access to a multi plug that has 4 wires going into it and cut 2 of them to blank this warning. I cant remember which 2 wires but i think i have a pic some where. So if your still planning on doing this here the style of blubs i used after trying a few before hand. I used this style for leds/smds for the reverse and stop/tail and front indicators. This style for indicators (rear) And this is the relay you'll need. The side indicators have these in them. When you order the bulbs you need white for the front indicators and amber for the rears, and white for stop/tail as they sit in a red lens anyway. Hope this of some use to you. Hope this it of some use to you.
  5. Found one on ebay in your colour, this would be the best way to start your mod off. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LEXUS-IS-200-2000-2005-FRONT-BUMPER-WITH-HEADLAMP-WASHERS-IS200-/320999149617?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4abd0a5031
  6. You would also have to cut holes in the front bumper for the washer jets to fit in, or swap the bumper out for one that's got them in it already!
  7. It's not an attack on your disability at all, just the idea that you dinged your car by yourself with out the help of a third party and you believe your not at blame and you are entitled to compo or some sort of an apology from someone else, lol really mate take your head out of the sand and chalk it up to you messed up and that's the be all and end all to it!
  8. So your blaming the pub for the height of their post that you hit due to it being to low! Also your saying that if the bay was not blocked that you would have drive straight in, then by your own admission you placed your car in a bad position to enter the bay, resulting in you hitting the post which means you didnt look! I dont want to pee you off at all but i find the idea of you trying to "pass the buck" for your mistake a bit hard to swallow, yes if the post was higher you wouldnt have it hit, but why is it the pubs fault???
  9. No that isn't a parking space that I am parked in. Many years ago it was originally the road. I realise its difficult to blame someone else but I can be forgiven after waiting 20 mins to get into the disabled bay that I forgot there was a post to my nearside under the hight of the door. As the pub manager said "Its been there for 20 years" I have just got another door £39 on ebay (So I have had some luck could of waited weeks for one the right colour) for her my garage will fit it on next week. As for blame, you have to blame someone, I thought the arrogance of the Chef & Brewer manager was outrageous so did his head office. We will wait to see what they say. Mike What they will say is you "entered the car park and park your own car at your own risk!" I know what your saying re the 20 min wait to get into a space but to try and blame the pub for your misstake is the bit i dont get? If you drove your car into a lamp post at the end of the street would you blame the council for putting it there?
  10. Ouch, i feel your pain Bluesman i really do, but dont see how you can blame someone else for the fact that it was you who drove your car into the post?! Even if their van/lorry was blocking the view of the post id say its still your responsibility to check that the path to the parking space is clear, by the look of where the post is i'd say you were parked in the bay to the right of the post and you drove in the the bay too sharpley clipping the post. Like i said i feel your pain and i speak for everyone one on here that on-one would wish that on anyone friend or foe but to try and blame someone else i'd say your on to a loser there my friend sorry.
  11. Had mine now for over 3 years and still going strong, i did over wind the spring on the blade to make it spring out faster and stronger as i thought it was a bit on the limp side lol... As said above, a bit on the bulky side but nothing you dont get used to, but their not the best in build quality i'd give them a 6-7 out of 10 for build quality but 10 out of 10 for style and praticality... But i'd get another one if this one ever gives up the ghost and dies...
  12. Please dont use caps to post, it looks like your shouting to others! Thanks...
  13. To remove the front fogs youll need a 10mm spanner (ratchet style if you have) to remove the 2 bolts that can be found in the air duct next to the figs, dont use a socket as theres not alot of room in there! I'd avoid the going through the wheel arch/ plastic guard unless you like the feeling of ripped flesh!!! Your fogs maybe corroded, so becareful when trying to remove the old bulbs as you can rip the heads off them leaving the bulb part in the light!! If they look corroded give them a spray with WD40 and let them stand. The fogs themselves can be stripped right down to their bare bone parts so they can be cleaned and put back together, which i'd recomend you do if they look bad. Good luck and let us know how you got on!
  14. When i bought my Lex it came with 3 keys, 2 with 3 buttons and 1 with 2 buttons :winky: :winky:
  15. No, didnt even bust the rad, like i said i drove it home over 30 miles away without any probs what so ever... Did have to drive on the front fogs due to there being no headlights working, god knows way lol...
  16. I,v always fancied angel eyes on my is, but whats the life span on the CCFL rings? I'd hate to strip the light fit them, then after a year or so have a ring let go on me and have to re-do the whole thing again!
  17. Sorry to hear about your crash mate, glad everyones ok tho. I did this a few years back and the airbags didnt og off, and i drove it home 30 miles away like that lol... That was about 15mph aswell...
  18. If they can dip alloys then cant see why not? Just found this, http://youtu.be/sE3841-1E8s Think that video answers you qusetion, if you lights get as hot as that heat gun then it would melt your lenses anyway...
  19. Try to keep the revs around 1500 rpm when pulling away, the dual mass flywheel is the culprit, read someone welded the two parts together when they had a new clutch fitted which fixed the problem. Or buy a new one from lexus!!! I dare you to ring and get a price lol...
  20. Messages from another forum. Sparkystav: Both myself and Rabs old IS have this system. We found it very hard/impossible to integrate with the standard system though. Rabster: thats correct, trying to integrate it to the EU version of the lexus IS200/300 alarm system is almost impossible (there could be a way but i think its down at component level) To integrate with after-market systems is simple enough or to remove the factory and integrate that way is simple as well although will no longer be a cat1 alarm unit the new system they make comes complete with remote start from the credit card fob which kinda defeats the objective IMHO. Sparkystav: It will work with the Lexus but it wouldn't arm the standard alarm just its own one built in. Rabster: as stav says it wont arm the standard alarm there is a way to do it i feel using the factory keyfob and a bypass module but as i dont have a lexus i cant fully test the theory i have but im 99.9% certain it can be made to work but there are some downsides to it which could make the car easy to steal..... Hope this helps.
  21. Ahhh, I have hids around and led side lights, so they all match in colour.
  22. Dare i say i have these fitted and like them, i have replaced them a few times over the years due to them yellowing with the sun. But i like them so their staying lol...
