  1. download this software :- http://www.inetcat.org/software/nbtscan1_5_1.zip its called nbtscan, unzip it into c:\windows\system32 load a command prompt and type in the prompt nbtscan 192.168.0.1-255 the above is an example using a class c 192.168.0.0 network, subsitute this with your ip range. or you could type nbtscan 192.168.0.1/24 does the same thing, just less to type. tell me if i'm being too techy.
  2. seriously, you can put your name down and be one of the first to own and drive one.
  3. i was down at the local lexus garge this lunch getting the radio replaced as it had decided to die on me. whilest i was there the manager who sold me my is200 asked me to step into the office, where he showed me the pics of the new is-series and the brouchers (which were in german). i was told that i could "pre-order" one, and by the looks of things he had quite a few pre-orders. you could also put your name down for the LFA supercar (had to decline that one, i'd need to sell my more than my organs to afford that one). however it looks like the price is still under wraps for now. the pictures he had though looked miles better than the ones i've seen on the net, or it could just be me.
  4. The new version of autoroute is quite good. it does real time mapping from your position and displays mph, compass and something else. doesnt talk though. Also if you can get it (probably off ebay) navigon v4 for notebooks is quite good. its basically the laptop version of the pda version and it talks to you. the bundle comes with a gps unit. also if you cant type your destination in, you can view the map and put a flag on it and it will navigate you to the flag. dont get the latest version as its pda only at the moment. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...4533104795&rd=1 its in german so a translation maybe in order
  5. i'll have to say "i dunno". The dash cluster is like most dash clusters now, that was one of the reasons i like the original is200. Also it doesn't look as "sporty" to me, it just looks like another saloon with a large engine(nothing really to complain about there). Nice inside though, the wood reminds me of my old rover 418 turbo diesel :P . I wonder what the new altezza will look like, that maybe the path for me ?
  6. Hi, does any one have an is200 dash tray that they want rid of. I'm only after the bog standard one, non of that fancy jdm or newer style dash trays. It would have to fit an is200 that is around 2 and bit years old. PM if anyone out there can help me out. I would have put this post on the buying and selling forums, but it said i didnt have access.
  7. from what i understand its based on the falcon. did a currency conversion on it, £27k. Before the strange taxes that they place on it. If ford uk brought them in, i'd consider it. however no decisions are to be made till the new IS series is unvailed.
  8. http://www.fpv.com.au/index.asp?target=ind....441&type_id=48 seems a nice motor. dunno what it'd cost to import though.
  9. How loud is the blitz ? is it a bit louder or "more" louder than the standard is200 back box ? i want the performance increase, but at the same time dont wish to be badged as muppet with a loud exhaust system. ie the corsa, nova, saxo and astra boy racers types.
  10. thanks for the help guys, its a toss up between the blizt and hi-power slient at the mo. need to check to see how much my insurance goes up by. should be a laugh.
  11. I take it that the hi power slient replaced the hiper ? kinda confused thought as on the tdi web site it display this picture of the silent :- TDI Hi Silent pic and on the hks web page it looks like this :- HKS Website Pic1 HKS Website Pic2 which one is it ? i'm only simple please help. :duh:
  12. Is the prolex one really that good ?
  13. Ok, i'm considering getting a new back box. However i'm looking at the possibilites of getting something other than the hks ones that seems to be readily available. i know they good, i'm just after different name. just that so many have the hks boxes, i wanna be different when the time comes :) So here's my list (its kinda short) TRD Toms Apexi N1 Evolution Blitz Nur S All comments welcomed on the selection, such as good points (sound) and bad points (noise) and rough prices. Then maybe i can make my mind up and start saving.
  14. Oh well, it was a short lived dream. As for the v8, i have plans to hear a v8 rumble some how. Even if it means buying a knackered old american 80's car with 5.7ltrs and 130 bhp (whats that all about i ask ?)
  15. Most importantly it was also the car jackie chan and jaws drove in cannon ball 1 & 2 films. From what i understand its also a relative of the evo, in terms of it being a turbo nutter, well an 80's version of the evo.
  16. Myself and friend are going to it on the 5th i think. Never driven on a track before, so being able to use and rag someone elses car for free should be good fun. suckers.
  17. those are the bad boyes, wouldnt mind just one of those boxes on my standard is200. assuming the insurance doesnt sky rocket.
  18. At work today, and kinda started day dreaming. ok i was day dreaming about the is430, and i remembered what the back end looked like. Can anyone tell me what make/model back boxes they used on it ?
  19. i've been accused of being a drug dealer. mostly because i dont look old enough to own a lex, so people think i'm into dodgy stuff. i've also been accused of looking dodgy whatever that means.
  20. Is there sat nav software available for the mac on os-x ? or can you use some thing like wine to emulate windows operation ?
  21. point less reply, however if callaway actually made more than one callaway corvette sledge hammer, then that would have been the worlds fastest production car. it got to a speed of 254mph with aircon running(i think), the guys that built it reckoned it could go faster. http://www.fast-autos.net/callaway/callawaysh.html part of my useless knowledge bank.
  22. Bounty hunter. However i think i've been watching too many eps of the fall guy.
  23. i just found them a little boring on the inside. you know nothing to get excited about, that and there's too many of them on the road. they should limit them to make them worth the price you have to pony up for them. oh and the power you get for the price is a little on the lacking side, but you could say that for the is200, at least it has 156bhp which more than the 318 and most 320's which cost considerably more and come with less.
  24. Ok, probably been asked before. Right i'm kinda in the mood for change the stock head unit. However after reading numerous articles about the amp being a pain in the :tsktsk: i'm considering just "re-doing" the setup. The main part of the plan involves me purchasing the is300 head unit converter and butchering it up so that it connects to an iso connector. http://www.autotoys.com/x/cust/product.php...&cat=437&page=1 Now would i be right in saying that i could just hook up the fronts without any mods to a head unit and all would be ok. I ask as there are cross overs in the door which could complicate matters. Next the sticky subject of the rears. By the sound of things i reckon that i should replace them. Could i use the exisiting wires that are in place ? Finally, maybe a stupid question. If i unplug and take the amp out, will the head unit cable still be wired to the speaker wires or will i need to build some sort of "bridging" unit to connect it all up ? Any info will be of massive help.
  25. Sorry to hear that. Same sort of thing happened to me a few weeks ago. Luckily i was sat in the car at the time so i got all his details. £500+ to repair the damage, good job i aint paying. I guess lexus has a target on it that only idiots can see and hit.
