  1. I tried one of those ECU's in my Altezza. I wasn't impressed. It actually made the car slower. With out a turbo I wouldn't bother. If you can get one from a N/A (T.E.C.II - 89600-TSE11-MT) then I'd give that a go.
  2. DO NOT Trust that web site. You must only use GL4 oil in your J160 6 Speed. All the oils that site list for the Altezza 6MT are GL5. The only synthetic oils I've found that are safe to use are Redline MT-90, TRD 75W90 & Amsoil 75W90 The reason why you don't use GL5 oil is the Altezza/IS J160 6 speed gear box has brass synchro rings. Most GL5 oils contain reactive sulfurs that cause damage to these synchros. So unless you want to rebuild your gear box in the near future don't use GL5.
  3. Look a bit odd not covering the whole width of the lamp. If you're after some check out the group buy on ACNZA http://z4.invisionfree.com/lexusaltezzaclu...?showtopic=9072
  4. eBay looks like the only place you'll get one at the moment http://global.ebay.com/NEW_LEXUS_F-SPORT_N...0386017529/item
  5. Get a F-Sport badge. That'd be more fitting than TRD
  6. You could always do what this chap did, buy an Altezza & convert it to LHD http://www.tezzaworld.com/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=1885 Email him & see if can help you abraham.castillo2@hotmail.com
  7. You pour water &/or coolant into it through the lid on the top. If you look at the side of it, it has a marking for Full. I wouldn't worry about it to much. As long as there's some water in there it'll be ok. I find they never have a consistent level in them & it also depends on the engine temp etc.
  8. Bit of a thread dredge here. Did anyone with this noise issue change their front lower ball joints? I had a similar knocking noise that developed into an occasional crack. Had it checked out & the mechanic diagnosed it as ball joints. I replaced them & now the noise had gone. (I'm starting to hear other noises though now ) I'm going to replace the front sway bar links next.
  9. The 3SGE takes 5.1L Most of us use Castrol Edge 5w30 fully synthetic. You can also run 10w30, 10w40 & 5w40 with out any problems. I wouldn't run anything thicker or mineral as it can cause issues with the VVTi solenoids. As for your pressure dropping at high rpm (6K+) it's would seem it's pretty normal for Altezza's. Mine does the same. I'd never taken any notice until someone asked on tezzaworld. We all had the same result.
  10. Here's the service schedule for an IS200 - http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y45/DataB...0MaintSched.jpg An Altezza will be similar minus the cam belt. That should be done at 100K rather than 150K. Assuming your car hasn't had the 75/80K done in Japan then I'd changing your fuel filter. 90K would have been to replace the spark plugs, air filter, brake, diff & transmission fluids. It's more than likely it wasn't done either. If you're going to change fluids then I recommend using fully synthetic & make sure use the correct GL rating. GL4 in the 6MT & GL5 in the diff.
  11. Have you posted anything on the Altezza club forums as well? Might be some interest on there. Would like a TTE rear spoiler for mine one day
  12. It'll look ridiculous on 19's unless you lower it. They look bad enough on the standard 17's at standard height IMO. You're worried about retaining ride comfort & your going to 19" 35 series tyres?? Lower it & stop being silly Have a browse of this thread for some inspiration http://z4.invisionfree.com/lexusaltezzaclu...?showtopic=4920
  13. Went out to the car this morning & thought man it's dirty. Wasn't like that last night, then I clicked. Bloody dust from aussie has made it over the Tasman & landed on my car here in Auckland If it wasn't raining at the moment we'd be getting some pretty spectacular sun sets to. I pity the mess you guys have to clean up over there.
  14. Maybe this will help http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...showtopic=62467
  15. Haha awesome. Hours of fun to had while I should be working My fav so far would have to be "clean bumper"
  16. You'll most likely need a new fuel sender IMO. The electrical side of it is probably stuffed rather than the gauge itself.
  17. Are you using the adaptor plugs or will be doing it properly & soldering the loom in? Here's a wiring diagram if you need it http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...mp;#entry686374 http://www.installdr.com/Harnesses/Toyota-Wiring.pdf
  18. Do you have an amp already? I doubt you find anything making half decent power that will fit where the factory one did. Get you're self an amp wiring kit from you local car audio shop. You'll want a minimum of 4 gauge cable IMO. A good kit will come with RCA's, Fuse holder & speaker cable. If the amps small enough you could put it under the passengers seat or else mount it in the trunk area. It's pretty straight forward but if you feel unsure about it get a professional to do it. http://www.caraudiohelp.com/how_to_install...l_a_car_amp.htm
  19. Having a quick play around with that calculator & assuming you have 35 offset (& I've got the OE rim/tyre right) they should fit. Only issue may be they might scrub on the guards if its lowered. You could always just go 265/35 to avoid any issues.
  20. Looking at the options for 19" Driftz he would most likely have to have 19x9.5" ET35 on the rear http://www.rimstock.co.uk/rimstockuk/wheelrange.php extream here's a handy guide to compare tyre sizes etc http://www.rims-n-tires.com/rt_specs.jsp 275/35 & going to be about 5% larger in OD than your OE size. 265/30 is pretty much bang on.
  21. How did you find the transition from F1's to N3000?? They're hardly in the same league. What are Toyo T1-R priced like over there?
  22. If you drive it hard you could go a heat range cooler to improve top end. Part numbers would be IK20 or BKR6EIX11
  23. Iridium FTW!! Denso IK16 or NGK BKR5EIX11 are the recommended plugs for a 2JZGE
  24. Just stumbled upon this thread. Very cool conversion B) Looks like a lot of hard work is about to pay off & be thoroughly enjoyed.
  25. Here's the individual TRD bush part numbers http://www.trdparts.jp/english/parts_bush-altezza.html You should be able to get them through you local Toyota/Lexus dealer from Japan but they won't be cheap. Not sure what aftermarket options are available, but it could be worth a look somewhere like this http://www.priracing.com/section.php/291/1/is200---is300
