  1. This will give you an idea of what is performed. https://www.toyota-tech.eu/tmu/uploads/23cb50e1f9f34a13851444ab775180d1/New HHC test- quick start guide_revised.pdf
  2. I'd say yes as we aren't getting reports from owners here on theft, or attempted thefts. We have LV refusing to cover CT200h that aren't even vulnerable, so I feel pre and post facelift NXs might be all tarred with the same brush with some insurance companies. You would need to shop around.
  3. Sounds like it was a Luxury grade with premium nav upgrade (which includes a reversing camera).
  4. But the extended warranty doesn't cover any interior trim. Best to either fix yourself or think of taking Lexus to the small claims court for not being fit for purpose if the vehicle is low usage/mileage as it would be reasonable to expect a steering wheel to last more than 4 years without starting to fall apart.
  5. Yes, that is a fault on the second knock sensor (bank 2). This is a somewhat common error on these engines - probably corroded wiring rather than the knock sensor itself. See here for an example:
  6. Normally I wouldn't accept what a dealer says but I've not seen any reported pre-facelift NX thefts discussed here on LOC so there is something different. The headlights have CAN bus wiring to all years in the wiring diagrams I've seen, for all three types of headlight so either wiring is different (maybe difficult to reach on one or two of the headlight designs) or the theft device doesn't support the older ones (or the body ECU/gateway ECU doesn't get tricked on the older model).
  7. The NX/RX shortage is due to Toyota moving from using wheel nuts to wheel bolts. I believe these are manufactured in region, and someone on these forums mentioned in Russia which may have further complicated the supply chain - although how it can take well over a year to recommission the manufacture of some wheel bolts is beyond me. The bZ4X/RZ had a flawed hub design where wheels/hubs were becoming detached which led to a halt in production for several months and a worldwide recall. Not sure this redesign has affected the locking wheel bolt design - probably not and just the same as the NX/RX issue.
  8. All Lexus vehicles in the last 20 years have multiple CAN buses. The issue is specifically CAN bus enabled headlights which allows easy access to the wiring when the vehicle is locked because inner wings don't really existing these days, just plastic wheel arch liners. All NXs (although pre-facelift may be more difficult to access the wiring - facelift models for definite) and all RX series IV (2016-2022) are vulnerable.
  9. Let the car idle for 10 mins and/or drive it and at junctions put into neutral and let idle for a few seconds each time (traffic permitting), the idle speed should gradually come down to normal as it learns the new idle setting. For the initial problem, we will need the fault code read to help narrow down the problem.
  10. Chris, happy for you to participate in these forums personally but traders soliciting business are against the forums T&Cs unless you wish to become an approved trader. I've given your advert a few hours airtime because if might help someone here looking for a GS F but I have to pull it now.
  11. Shocks are explicitly excluded from the 10 year warranty - you need to carefully check if the 10+ year extended warranty doesn't excludes them too if you are thinking of an air suspension model. The series III RX air suspension has been very reliable to date but they are getting to that age where we would expect to start to see failures. Personally I'd avoid unless you needed that feature (e.g. for low mobility and need the vehicle to be lower to get in/out) - from a comfort point of view the standard spring models are fine for most people.
  12. I would open the roof and pour water in the gutter channel and see where it is going - possibly your drains are blocked or there is some other issue that is allowing water to overflow or leak.
  13. If there is a leak around the glass then any water that gets past will just fall into the gutter and be drained away. Are you actually getting water ingress into the cabin/headlining?
  14. Carista or Techstream software or your dealer can customise this.
  15. Worth considering switching to Intelligent Octopus Go which is 6 hours over night at 7.5p.
  16. Relax won’t cover any of those advisories. Firstly because they are wear and tear/excluded items and secondly they would need to be at an MOT failure level before they would be considered.
  17. If you purchase from the trader then you have 6 months where they must fix any fault or prove it didn't exist when it was sold - them offering only 3 months doesn't remove their legal obligations. I image all the rubbers on a vehicle of that age will show some signs of cracking - was it an over zealous MOT inspector or is this vehicle worse than others?? Difficult to say unless you get an independent inspection carried out.
  18. Not sure if the body ECU is different, not just the loom. I doubt anyone here has attempted this.
  19. The Advance only has the 6 speaker audio without separate amp or a sub - it lacks performance compared to the 8 speaker premium audio system on other grades with the advanced navigation option. Not sure how anyone could only get 40 mpg in an IS300h with 17" wheels on anything other than a very short journey or greatly exceeding the motorway speed limit so you should be able to achieve your requirement there. If you go for the Corolla, why not the 2.0l version as that is much nicer - the extra power means you don't have to rev it so much.
  20. Not sure there were many pattern parts available for the series I RX - too low volumes to make it worthwhile. You are probably best to go to a exhaust specialist who will make you a custom one, which would still be much cheaper than going to Lexus.
  21. Toyota/Lexus hybrids don’t have alternators.
  22. Ideally you need the error code. The engine light cannot come on without an associated fault code - I suspect whatever tool was used couldn't read all codes correctly/legacy ODB protocol. It could be a leak in the fuel system somewhere, e.g. the charcoal canister, but it could also just be the pressure sensor itself that is faulty or the VSV - the correct fault code would help narrow down the issue:
  23. You get dealer/manufacturer finance contribution offers that offset higher interest rates, and at the moment some new car offers have interest rates much lower than banks offer. For PCP you are locking in a final valuation which protects you against higher than predicted depreciation. Always worth comparing all the options available and selecting the one most appropriate for you at the time. Many times paying cash isn't the best option.
