  1. Not all imports have the steering fog lights. Is the glass not available on it's own? Contact Chris, he will be able to tell you - and use your gold discount :)
  2. It has a belt. Should be changed every 100,000 miles
  3. I've thought about it too. Someone I know does boiler servicing, contracting to British Gas. Earns good money and there is a lot of work out there.
  4. You may be able to buy a UK keyboard as a spare part and replace the US one. Most manufacturers will sell them. The big AJP doesn't seem to use a mobile processor which I guess is why the battery life is so poor. I guess it depends on what you are using it for, it's not exactly light either.
  5. as long as it doesn't fail the recording for no reason at all
  6. People have the right to be worried about the RX-8. Already problems are being seen and the RX-7 was never that reliable. The 400h will probably have a 7 year or more warranty on the hybrid system. Maybe in 7 years time others will have the skills/knowledge/equipment to do servicing/repairs.
  7. You wouldn't normally replace any other parts at the same time. Have a good look around whilst doing the job though.
  8. I guess fuel economy is also down?
  9. I think the price difference is to keep sales of the RX300 high and to stop it having an effect on 300 residuals. Only people who want the extra performance will pay the extra and compare to a X5 4.4 I think the 400h is worth it.
  10. When the assistant producer contacted me through LOC he seemed to have researched the subject well and was keen to get the views of 4x4/SUV owners to balance up the 'greens'. They had also been over to the US to see/test drive the 400h.
  11. I was told by my dealer that they would have the 3 trim levels - if that turns out to be the case or not I don't know. In the US there is a spec level increase on the 400h versions, maybe the UK models will also have better spec compared to the 300s - not that you can really have a higher spec than the RX300 SE-L apart from the better stability control which will be on all 400h models. BMW have been selling £35k+ vehicles for years without leather as standard.
  12. Welcome to LOC. You may want to post your question on the US forums. The LX isn't sold over here in the UK. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums
  13. prices are said to be £5,000 over the price of the RX300. That would make the price range £35,000 - £44,000
  14. from Lexus web site http://www.lexus.co.uk/owning.php?page=warranty
  15. this is about correct apart from the coolant which should be every 20,000 miles on pre 2004 models. http://www.lexus.co.uk/owning.php?page=servicing
  16. shame you live so far away from me I would have taken them.
  17. are you sure the fuel filter was changed? It should never need doing and wouldn't be done on a service.
  18. what age is your vehicle? Do you know what error code is being produced?
  19. All the best. Hope you like the Celica as much as the IS :)
  20. The IS200 is bad on fuel but not that bad. Worth checking air filter, tyre pressures, brakes for binding or hook it up to diagnostic equipment and check air temp/air flow/O2/coolant readings are correct and sensors working properly.
  21. only catch is the filter in the starter pack only lasts for 3 washers, normal one lasts about 10.
  22. A lot of insurance companies don't list a sport for that year because it wasn't officially available. They made up quite a few models thinking the suspension would be ready but it never came and they are really SE models with sports pack.
