  1. A re-gas is under £100 but you will also need to find out why it has lost pressure in the first place.
  2. No Lexus uses IR for central locking and all CAT 1 alarms (fitted as standard to 1995 onwards Lexus models) have anti grab rotating codes.
  3. if you buy series II wheels make sure they come with centre caps. They are about £33 each from dealers.
  4. They are available from Lexus dealers, not cheap though. You need to be careful when buying second hand early style wheels as they seem to buckle easily and you could end up wasting money.
  5. could try using a different supply source for the Greddy E-01, that will probably be drawing an amp or two.
  6. not sure if they are selling in the US properly, just a few test users. The prices have gone up though!
  7. It will use quite a bit more fuel than the IS I would recommend you get the transmission fluid changed.
  8. 5W30 is not really available in the UK as a full synthetic, either use 0W40 or 10W40. If you are doing long runs and service your car more than once a year then semi-synthetic would be fine. You could even use mineral oil if you change it every 5k miles. Lexus only state the specifications that need to be met, which are in the owners handbook. Any oil that meets those specs can be used. Most Lexus dealers use fully synthetic oil but some also use semi-synthetic.
  9. The engine needs over 4 litres. You do not have to use full synthetic oil and 5W30 is the prefered choice according to the owners manual.
  10. I guess it depends if they are changing brake fluid and/or coolant? If neither it should be £200 max.
  11. The 2.2D won't be out until some time in 2006 - hopefully early in the year but no dates released yet.
  12. gearbox capacity is 1.9 US quarts.
  13. Pricing comfirmed on Lexus web site. http://www.lexus.co.uk/nextgengs.php?page=...extra=nextgengs
  14. Nothing that is Thatcham approved.
  15. LS430 came out at the end of 2000. The latest version with the 6-speed box came out in Nov 2003. Most LS430s are in the dealer network. Auctions are probably the only other place you will find them.
  16. It may be worth posting on the US site as there are many more LS owners there. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums
  17. The IS300 came late because they only launched the IS in the US in 2001 and a 2.0l wasn't big enough.
  18. If you don't want the alarm on then lock the car with the key and not the remote. However the alarm will not drain a fully working battery in two weeks.
  19. Well the wheels won't cost Toyota £500 each and even if they did it would mean the 17" would cost £400 each so there is only £500 difference between all 5 wheels.
  20. there are multiple people selling them. It would be nice if you could recommend somebody.
  21. Nothing wrong with that oil although if you are unhappy drain it and put in what you want. Don't put additives in a Lexus/Toyota engine.
  22. If he is data logging with OBD-II then the same equipment should work on the IS.
  23. The speedo is accurate, just been designed to read over.
  24. what tyres do you have? IS200 is a little noisy on the motorway compared to the rest of the Lexus range but not too bad.
