  1. I have been contacted by the BBC Money Programme who would like to hear from current 4x4/SUV owners and prospective RX400h buyers for reasons why they decided to purchase this type of vehicle and the roll the 400h/hybrids will play in the market. Any owners who wish to help can they please contact me via PM and I can put you in touch with the assistant producer. There is also the possibility for owners to appear on the programme.
  2. Best way is to find somebody without a spoiler and swap boot lids. They get a spoiler and you save money by not having to fill holes etc.
  3. Is that 120 MPH up to 160 MPH? I never knew that if thats the case, I always thought it only changed the gear timing a little bit, i.e held the gears longer and changed down quicker when applying the loud pedal, does that mean that without it switched to power it'll only run up to 120mph, and with it on it'll go over? ← That is probably a JDM thing, not on the UK vehicles.
  4. I read that as: you MUST use headlights when visibility is reduced (100m or less) and you CAN use fog lights as well. But when visibility is above 100m then you MUST turn off foglights and you CAN turn off headlights.
  5. if the value is under £18 you won't
  6. Would it not be cheaper just to get the sticker then?
  7. No it's a Toyota but then that is what all Lexus are anyway.
  8. I find the Celica interior a bit plastic, nice car though. Been out for a while now - is it due for a replacement?
  9. Styling kit is not a factory fit option - either put on on entry into the UK or by dealers or you can buy it afterwards.
  10. Isn't Daimler Chrysler America's third largest car manufacturer after GM and Ford? ← They were the third largest in the world.
  11. Not all sports have a two-tone steering wheel.
  12. 20 bhp less on the 4.0 and 4.3l engines in Europe. It is due to emmisions on Euro engines and possibly wanting to get better mpg as petrol costs so much more over here.
  13. That is the vehicle model code not the engine code. You need to know if it's a S300 or a V300. As you have found out the V300 (Twin Turbo) is a lot more to insure.
  14. No, the standard NA 3.0l engine 2JZ-GE and the TT 3.0l engine 2JZ-GTE.
  15. I think it comes out March 1st in the US. Not sure if the 3.0l engine will be used for too long as there is also a 3.5l going in it which should also be used in the new IS Where did you get those old stats from? Old US is 5.8 0-60 and the UK is 6.3 Be interesting to see if the V8 does get 300bhp this time like it always has had in the US. LS and SC still only have around 280 - could just Lexus GB not getting their info correct.
  16. Yes it's a GS with a 4l engine. Didn't come out here in the UK. After late 2000 the 4l engine was replaced by the 4.3l on all models. 0-60 time is correct.
  17. Locate the DVD unit. Remove the two screws and pull the front of the unit up. With the ignition on press the eject button and the disc will come out. The discs do get a bit dirty so hopefully that is all it is.
  18. only laser ones by default which has Gord said if you get an alert you have probably already been measured. I think there is an optional radar detector available
  19. Should be towards the end of the year.
  20. I would double check the fuses again. Fuses like dome, mpx-b, ecu-b1, door should be double checked. There are 3 fuse boxes, one in the engine bay and drivers & passengers kick panels. If all the fuses are ok then the body ECU may be damaged but I'm sure it will just be a fuse - sounds like the passenger fuse box wasn't checked and I think the fuses I listed are located there.
  21. and if you purchase a used ECU from a breakers etc. then make sure it has a master key with it otherwise it will be no use.
  22. have you tried a breakers? If you have to buy new then you could join our Gold scheme for £25 pa and save yourself £33 with a 15% discount from certain dealers. I would also double check the part you need isn't available on it's own. It's not unknown for a dealer to not look correctly and assume the part is only available as a whole.
