  1. There are requirements for new cars and the SVA test has limits.
  2. I brought a couple of tyres last month for my IS. Got a quote for both a standard SP9000 and Lexus one. The Lexus one was £10 more, came in a box and is made in Japan. Both types are MFS - the small lip which is meant to stop kerbing MFS I've contacted Dunlop to clarify the different types of SP9000 and how to tell them apart. Hopefully I will get a response.
  3. If yours are made in Germany then I don't think they are the Lexus OEM tyres. There should be a small lip but it doesn't help much with the Lexus alloys - well they don't with my wife!
  4. No it is not and nor is reversing alterations made by moderators!
  5. Not sure if they do it without MFS (rim protector) now. There are 3 types. Standard, Extra load and Lexus OEM.
  6. With all that power in such a small car I would have thought 0-60 would have been under 5 seconds. Still you would have great fun pulling up to the lights and people thinking you have a standard 1.8 :)
  7. The tyres will be made in Japan not a european country. Not sure what else you can check.
  8. Tracking is just checking the toe-in. There are also caster and camber adjustments that are required to fully align the wheel. Tracking normally costs about £10. A full wheel alignment using laser measuring equipment can cost £50-100. Inside wear is normally caused by incorrect camber and therefore just getting the tracking checked will probably not fix the problem. If you have wear on the inside and outside then your tyre pressures are too low. This explains things: http://www.familycar.com/alignment.htm The IS200 has a little negative camber, which improves handling, so a small amount of wear on the inside is expected.
  9. A cheapo wrench will last and should be accurate enough for wheel nuts. Just don't try and tighten up more than the wrench is designed for and don't use it to undo nuts, use a breaker bar.
  10. Argos do the same wrench as Screwfix, cost a couple of £ more. If you want choice then look here: http://www.tooled-up.com/MicroCategory.asp...D=324&MCID=1590
  11. The two engines are based on the same design however there are internal differences, not just a couple of turbos.
  12. The 1999-2000 GS300 sports and all GS430s have HIDs. The latest GS300 sports do not.
  13. The calculator is a bit out on the mpg which makes the savings look better. It gives 20mpg average for my car but I normally get more than that. The RX300 is the only Lexus that is approved for a government grant of £700.
  14. I don't think anything was done. In the US the interval never changed between pre and post facelift models - it was always 90,000 miles so I don't see why a UK car cannot go to 90,000 + Saying that I cannot recommend service schedules are not followed. Also remember that if you come to sell you car it would be expected to have been done.
  15. Mid October would have been the earliest, it was launched at the motor show but wasn't sure if they were delayed until November to launch with the new LS. http://www.lexus.co.uk/news.php?page=archi...00&id=motorshow
  16. Aido, Best to start a new thread in dealers and pricing forum. All prices should be without gold discount
  17. The common inside wear on the fronts. Probably worth getting it done. I wouldn't pay dealer prices though.
