    My words of wisdom (or not?) would be to go with a good premium touring tyre. Doesn't really matter about the brand but you can't go that far wrong with a Goodyear / Michelin / hankook / Bridgestone / continental etc On 17s I would avoid the asymmetric 6 and tyres akin to it which are more premium sporty tyres Whilst great in summer I've found the Goodyear's a pain in colder weather. It took them 40 mins of driving under 12 degrees to get them warm and the grip in these conditions was abysmal. Under 7 degrees and they spin / snake at every boot

    Its more likely cos you have a small post count and newish member it might be suspected as advertising

    How would a cat 2 immobiliser stop it if a ghost doesn't? As far as I am aware, most security companies have said that ghost would stop the canbus theft as the car would switch off if the engine is started regardless of the method used

    Probably just the wording. The oil definitely does get replaced rather than just topped up. The IS300H doesn't have a front diff but it's a generic service schedule so just includes it for cars which might have it. Diff change won't be every year either.

    Its no different to any other premium manufacturer really. Mercedes charge £1056 for 2 services and 2 MOTs for example.

    We had very little on ours too. Our Rx is slightly worse though. I think it's all dependent on a number of factors. Some people literally get into the car and rub their whole backside on the bolsters before getting in which would understandably cause a lot of wear

    Just leave it well alone. I dont think itd make any significant difference as long as you're not sticking cotton wool / chewing gums in the vents

    Open up the "whats included" on the service. It clearly states "Carry out hybrid healthcheck"

    Bearing went at around 50k so quite premature. That was quite a similiar noise in the link to what I experienced to be honest. TBH the noise was worst at around 30-40 and then settled down between 50-60 and over 69 it was quite bad too BTW, bearing can cause sideways movement... This video is quite good at explaining it

    Id be checking the wheel - if its bent it can make a noise. Having said that, it shouldnt be spinning off axis. If its off axis, theres a balancing issue which would have made itself known by the amount of wheel weights on it. Also, get the bearings checked. My RX recently had a faulty bearing and was making a humming noise worse at around 50-70mph which went away once the bearing was replaced.

    Its the radio unit itself. Kills itself and the screen goes dead as the connections all go through the radio. Essentially requires a new radio unit to work which isnt cheap unless you get a second hand one

    Its unfortunate to see you go Out of interest, did you know that the Ghost immobiliser does work with Lexus and does indeed protect against canbus thefts as well?

    Its all the torque going through the front wheels so sounds reasonable I think. Why is it difficult to hand wash? Its a very small car.

    Im not saying your views are wrong, but I have had a 2022 plate E220d as a courtesy car when my C class when in for service a few months ago. It was louder than the ES in my opinion in terms of motorway noise and the ride quality was poor. Its quite interesting that you find the ES noisy in comparison especially as it even uses an acoustic windscreen and front side glass.

    Interesting. I mean I've driven all the recent Mercs, Audi's and BMWs and I never found any significant difference between them and an ES really. Maybe slightly more wind noise over the mirrors on the ES but it's a much cheaper car overall compared to a 5 or E class

    Compared to a BMW what? 7 series. I think you'll find the ES is as quiet if not quieter than most BMWs

    Go for a decent set of Michelin's, Goodyear's or hankooks. They don't seem to have excessive noise issues.

    Normally does display near the speedo. The fact that you jumped however, means that the key must have had enough battery charge to get the doors open. Regardless, even if the main battery is dead there is a backup battery behind the Lexus badge. Press the "power" button with the key fob and it should work in an emergency situation

    All the more reason to take his opinion with a pinch of salt really. Besides - cracks in tyres are not inherently dangerous. It depends on what kind of cracks they are. Cracks in the sidewall would require immediate replacement but microcracks in the tread blocks/between are actually part of normal wear and tear and will be there in 9/10 tyres after 1-2 years.

    Its really just a load of opinions and hearsay . Michelins are a lot more expensive so its no surprise they get recommended by tyre fitters. They usually have higher margins on them. Some will outright recommend continental and others will recommend some chinese brands. Its like going to a restaurant and asking for the "best" dish. Ive been running Goodyears for the past 7 years with no cracking issues yet the first set of michelin CC2s I have used have cracks on them in 2 years

    Ours been on a Renault Clio for 2 years and they've started cracking too

    In conclusion, theyve changed the grades so much and the naming its hard to keep up!

    There was an option package available but it was quite rare. I think it was called F-Sport Premier pack or something actually, rather than Takumi
