  1. Hey wait a minute - tar remover is quite useful for these things too if you have some. WD40 might do the trick as well, especially if its just paint on top of paint.
  2. The angle won't make much difference if its on the rear window though as the boot sticks out.
  3. £300 to get it done properly. Bet they'll make a right mess of the paint as well. Its not exactly an easy colour to match.
  4. Leasing is never greater than the depreciation costs - thats just not how it works lol - in that case the leasing companies would be losing more money than they were making! You can actually get that car for £22399 btw.
  5. At that close range, dashcam ain't going to get jack all on camera. Doesn't look like car damage either tbh - angle isn't right at all for a car to scrape it. Id bet someone hit it whilst trying to roll something like a bike, lawnmower etc behind the car.
  6. This question has been asked to death on the forum. Worth looking at the following threads: General consensus is it makes no difference. Usually the results are down to placebo or extended use (more than 5k miles of consecutive use). Even tests on dino's are flawed as there are too many variables to get a proper reading such as outside temperature etc etc.
  7. Claying doesn't strip a surface of the paint off, instead it takes off bits from the surface of the paint. Its like shaving your face - think of the contamination as hairs and the clay bar/mitt as the razor. It takes off the contaminants and makes the paint smooth.
  8. The one in my 54 RX300 was one touch - you pulled the switch backwards and it opened fully. If you hit it forward when open, it would close completely. The tilt buttons used to do just that i.e. tilt to max and then when hit again, fully closed.
  9. Apparently the car has Full service history - obviously we know that isnt true. From memory of it popping up before on the forum, its got budget tyres on and of course the wheels look questionable - they're the wrong colour for a start.
  10. Take a look at the battery to see if the original one with japanese wording on it. Things like this tend to happen a lot with terminals being loose on batteries and all sorts.
  11. Yep needed doing on my RX at 7 years old too. Mileage doesn't affect them btw, its more to do with time.
  12. Stay away - its got all sorts wrong with it. Been on for absolutely ages because no one wants to buy it
  13. A photo would be good yes. The originals are gunmetal colour and are a pain to match
  14. Well the calipers on the GS-F are orange and they look awesome. There's no blue on the outside apart from the little bit around the badge
  15. Probably the things to look out for is RUST! Mazda suffers a lot from it but the MX-5 is especially prone. Check under the car, under the arches and specifically under the door and boot seals.
  16. Not really - Ive been to many but I actually wanted to buy a car! However, I never felt the deal was as good as they were advertising and therefore always left without anything. Its just extra advertising to get people into the showroom really thats it. You can get similiar "deals" all year round
  17. IS F-Sport's dont have satin black wheels though?!
  18. FAT32 is a must, Lexus wont play any other format. Im unsure on the format of the actual file though but yeah, give it a go and see if any of them work .
  19. You shouldn't really be rotating tyres anyway - not good practice as confirmed by manufacturers and tyre fitters themselves. I found the CT advance annoying lol, but I dont find my RX and IS F-Sport's annoying so that explains it all. Not sure how much more life you'd want to get out of the tyres anyway though - the OEM bridgestones on the IS have had 11k miles on them from new and they're still on 5.5mm rear :P Fronts are at 6.3mm :)
  20. Its at a dealer hence itll be priced higher than a private car anyway. Lexus coventry have a habit of knocking the price down a lot to make you think you got a good deal when you enquire as well.
  21. Wheels are different yes - 225/40 r18 on front and 255/35 r18 on the rear - same as Premier and F-Sport models. The IS F-Sport rides better than a CT advance and therefore you can imagine that the Sport rides better than all CT variants There is no suspension change between Sport, Luxury and Premier. Only the F-Sport gets stiffer suspension. If you are set on the IS300h Sport, may I recommend Broadspeed? They've got £4419 off list price so you can get one for £25775 + paint Having said that - I should mention that there is a new model coming out later this year/early next year called the UX250 and UX250h. Its a small SUV based on the CT
  22. New Q5 coming later this year BTW. Apparently it looks quite smart, complete opposite of the crap looking Q7 now
  23. EVO praised the RC200T as well. Not so keen on the 300h though
  24. Leg room in the 2nd gen was hindered by the relatively short wheelbase and super thick seat backs. 3rd gen has a longer wheelbase and thinner seat backs which helps tremendously. Of course front and rear legroom is relative to the position of driver and passenger seats but no one would fit behind me in the 2nd gen, I'm 6 ft but in the 3rd gen I can actually use the back seat for adult humans
