  1. Yup 3 years with a new car. This is one reason why I don't buy cars when the new plate comes out - they get so busy that they rush the prep. Highly likely you'll find scratches and swirls on the car too :/
  2. The actual engine itself is super smooth - it's very silky - can't complain one bit. With the new one having more power 313ps compares to 299ps atm I can see why Lexus went for it. It has a lot of mid range urge so never feels lacking. Personally, I think 35mpg is OK for an SUV so not too fussed. Last time I drove a Q7 tdi it was getting about the same so I still think it's a good drivetrain. No complaints here. Taking a £14k hit in the first year is much greater than a few hundred quid here are there spent in fuel so mpg doesn't bother me
  3. On a side note just found this video: Now it doesnt seem very interesting BUT - look at 1:10. There is a HUD button - and its an F-Sport?!
  4. Yes I agree regarding the wheels - however, I think they look better when they're black! MPG figures are always going to be off regardless - I get about 35mpg MAX - its rated at 44.8mpg - oh well lol. Im not going to buy new at £65k - ill have to get a demo. My limit is £50k. I spent £49k on the current one new - only options being ML and Arctic pearl paint. It dropped £14k in a year wtf! Id imagine this new one to fall faster!
  5. It has got high mileage for its age so may qualify - its worth asking the dealer just to make sure. Ideally you'd want to go to an independent for servicing though as Lexus charge a small fortune after the first 50k miles and it won't really affect car value that much after 50k miles. Usually, its only worth going to Lexus for servicing in the first 3-5 years providing you do 10k miles a year as using an independent would have a very big effect on depreciation. Once it has 80k miles on it, its not going to matter where you take it for servicing.
  6. RX8 is nothing in comparison - a 135i is difficult to control sometimes - the 235i is more stable. 135i when driven in Eco mode always seems to be artificially 'held back' But it tones down the throttle response etc etc
  7. £767 is a good deal buddy as the 60k one is more expensive than normal. However, if you're CT has 80k miles on it - its better off going for either Lexus Essential Care or an independent. Reason being is that they'll try and charge you something like £1000 for the 100k one.
  8. Hehe its highly unlikely im going to buy it new though - the cost would be unjustifiable - Ill probably be looking at 6-12 months old - if the F-Sport is priced at £65k then it'll be £53k in 6 months (look at the RCF!!) with less than 7k miles on them. I can remember doing the insurance on mine - the value was £54k first (I paid £49k new) and next year it was £40k. Took a £14k hit in the first year oooof! Taking into account that this model won't be as popular as the current one due to size and price it'll depreciate quite fast! Im defo getting white with red lol. Id like the pan roof too and the ML. I guess ill have to live without the HUD
  9. What do you mean by difficult to control...The point of a RWD 300bhp car is the fact you can get the tail out for a little wag by using your right foot. People don't buy these cars to make them feel safe. If you tried to use 100% of the power in my old E90 335i on a slightly damp/cambered road, you better be ready for it to try and throw you into the nearest ditch (and tried it did on many occasions), and that was in a straight line :)It's the one thing I really miss about RWD, with my FWD Leaf all you get is understeer, followed by understeer, followed by more understeer, and than the TC kicks in kills all the power....and than I realise I'm about to run out of charge and have to crawl home at 30mph :) As in - its difficult to keep in a straight line with your foot planted to the floor LOL. Its a ditch finder - hence why so many have crashed!
  10. Doesn't prove anything though. 61000 is a very small sample. Also the Lexus NX was barely out for a few months when the results came out so no doubt it's very unreliable. You have to take into account that reliability is subjective. A BMW owner may say every rattle and knock is a reliability issue whereas a Toyota driver could say only mechanical issues are to do with reliability. Hardly fair.
  11. RX8 is nothing in comparison - a 135i is difficult to control sometimes - the 235i is more stable.
  12. Depends on the insurance company - some give discounts and others class it as a modification (which it is in all honesty as its not from factory). It may or may not help you and it depends on what the actual difference in premium is. Personally, Ive never even though about using a dash-cam.
  13. Sure you're wife can handle it? I had issues with that particular car lol - its not exactly what you'd call "driver friendly"
  14. Yeah you can - if you open the door and then use the inside controls to lock all the doors and then close the door - itll be locked from the outside. But - bear in mind that the immobiliser wont be on.
  15. Do you trust your neighbour? If so - it may be a better option to leave a key with them - just the electronic fob without the tag and the manual key. I tend to give my father in law the key to my cars and I give the neighbour his number just in case the alarm goes off or anything. Having said that - I leave my car (albeit in the garage) for 4 weeks at a time and had no problems - even starts first time too.
  16. Courtesy of Lexus USA - Ive definitely settled on White with Red leather now!
  17. OOooooh - SHINY! Wife's is being collected on Friday this week but its a 63 plate - was supposed to be last Friday but paperwork didn't arrive from DVLA and of course, dealers are busy today - working all day tomorrow and salesperson not there on Thursday!!
  18. In car satnav will never be redundant. They'll just reduce the price
  19. When I got my (used) CT they provided roadside cover for me. I called to add my partner and they issued new cards.....but the expiry date had moved forward three months..... Thats weird - hope you shouted down the phone at them! I paid for mine - £115 for a year as the 3 year cover I got has run out!
  20. Toothpaste works well - try it! If its not taking it off, the UV damage is on the inside!
  21. No problems whatsoever on mine yet. It's just over 3 years old with 32k miles on. Mine makes a light clunk when coming to a stop but it's brake pads moving in calipers apparently. Hasn't got worse or been a problem though I wouldn't worry about short trips on a petrol motor. It's diesels where it's a problem.
  22. I read this in the paper, what a jealous idiot. I hope he is caught and has to pay for the damage, the image is clear enough for him to be known. My dash cam switches off with the engine I cannot think of a way to make it stay on. If I had an Aston I would invest on a 360 degree system. Ed The article says he's been arrested so hopefully they'll have enough evidence to prosecute. . Sent from my iPad using Lexus OC He'll get out of it I bet
