  1. Distilled water and bataid tablets.....those were the bad old days. I think new batteries are pretty good nowadays and I don't miss messing about with battery acid one bit as I've seen how nasty that stuff can be.
  2. I bet Toyota are charging 30 quid to just fit. What's the price to just buy as its an easy job to fit providing you can lift it. Don't forget to ask for your 10% you never know your luck.
  3. Following advice I got on here I enquired at the local Toyota dealer and was pleasantly surprised at the very reasonable price around £75 for such a big battery. They then gave me a further 10% off when I mentioned I was a member of the Lexus owners club. I now try Toyota first and they often come in cheaper for quite a few parts. I only had to enter the code for my radio on my p reg.
  4. Yes its normal to fall for an LS don't worry we all do. Love the story by the way, just goes to show it sometimes pays to just go and look at alternatives in the area. Congrats on your new motor you won't want to drive anything else from now on.
  5. Hi Mike its has done it since conversion. The installer has had a sniff tester all over it but didn't find anything, that I could see/hear ( I was watching). Other people mentioned a gas smell too but I'm starting to wonder if it is my imagination! The installer is going to replace all the spring clips the kit came with to jubilee clips that he said he prefers anyway. So we will see or smell to be more accurate.
  6. Haha its not the thirst time ;-) I've been compared to a vampire! Me and Lexi are night time partners plying for trade all over rainy old Warrington. In other words I'm a night time taxi driver and I like to have a read of the forum in the down time and help if I can.
  7. I didn't bother with it either Mike as they were after money and as I'm pretty happy with the filllpg app on my phone I thought sod it its no hardship looking up an address and plonking it into my favourites on the satnav.
  8. I don't know off the top of my head but I did once come across all the info you want on the DVLA website. If I find it I will post a link.
  9. Does anyone else get a wiff of gas when they start up? Its not strong and doesn't last but just wondered that's all.
  10. Slightly off topic. I found these wishbones listed on ebay and they look better quality than other ebay items. Has anyone tried them yet? 290639102536 <------- Item number
  11. So what's the next video Steve? A ride along at normal throttle with windows open to get some sound in ;-) Go on, you know you want to lol.
  12. I will have a shufti when I'm on the main pc next. Only 500,000 eh, the way I'm piling on the miles it will be me soon!
  13. And on that note, does anyone happen to know what the highest mileage LS is currently?
  14. That's interesting, I'm obviously a bit thick with regards exhaust systems as I didn't realise you would get better mpg and that the sound changes when warmed up. You live and learn. Thanks for the feedback Steve, very useful info. Pete.
  15. Thanks Steve, I suspect you had already had the youtube idea lol. That is pretty loud but is like that because you floored it?
  16. Nice. So what's she sound like? Would you be able to do a recording or you tube video I would love to hear what those pipes sound like :-)
  17. If anyone has a smartphone I can recommend the Filllpg app it covers the whole country as far as I can see.
  18. That was a good run Mike! Re tyres, I can always do with some spares as I go through them as you can imagine.
  19. What size tyres Mike? Ps if you haven't left already, avoid the M6.
  20. No need for coffee Mike, I wholeheartedly agree with what you said. I work my butt off doing horrible hours and it feels as though every time I make some headway some incompetent halfwit puts up my bills in order to maintain their standard of living at my expense. Lets face it we are NOT all in this together and I get quite angry when politicians utter such lies. I do not object to business men working hard and enjoying the fruits of their hard work far from it, that's what I'm aiming for myself. Mike hit the nail on the head in his post and he is far better equiped than I to get that point across. I'm not jealous of well off people but there is a difference I feel between people who create wealth and those who just take wealth if you catch my drift. I didn't intend to rant when I started so please accept my apologies. Cheers Pete
  21. Have a good drive and bring a brolly, it hasn't stopped raining up here in a couple of months!
  22. Did you use paisley freight in the end Mike? If so how did they perform?
