  1. I should be ok depending on shift at work. Can I get first dibs on his car then
  2. I'm a HGV driver and do a walk around check at the start of my shift, I have to by law and it has to be documented by law, after each break I also do another walk around check and lastly when I park up for the night I check again. Some may say that's too many, but have you ever seen the carnage caused by a defective vehicle, I have and 3 cars and a truck + 3 dead is not pretty. So do your checks before you move off even on a car, better to be safer than another statistic. As for saving the planet, I do that each time I start my Ls430, it may not be this planet I'm saving, but I know I'm saving one somewhere in the universe.
  3. Not exactly sure but this looks like it 89341-50011-BO http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/942092120/for_Toyota_Lexus_Parking_Sensor_OEM.html Can't be sure so i would ring your local Lexus and ask for the part number, i do know that on the front, the 2 sensors next to the reg plate are a different code as they are a tad bigger
  4. Perhaps those that do are unable to read or use a keyboard?! Perhaps they are in their cars pushing all the buttons and switches so the pretty lights come on their dashboards?! I must stop taking these sarcasm pills! Keep taking the sarcasm pills, i get mine on presciption now
  5. Bah humbug, just got back from a boxing day run in me wagon, bloody shoppers crowding the roads with their bargain hunts getting in me way....... bah fizzle himbug bah bah hot damn bah Apart from that i'm fine, happy halloween all :hohoho: Now where is my favorite window to lick, i feel the madness rising
  6. Bronze sensor code is 89341-50011-EO about 130 quid from Lexus, the EO is the paint code according to the chap at Lexus, and if you need the little bracket that holds it in place then this is the code 89348-50010 at 6 quid a pop
  7. It is an offence to use fog lights improperly. Mate of mine at my old NHS job can testify to that, he got stopped and given a fixed penalty (i think the penalty was for him being a ****, as he may have just got a telling off if he had not been such a bolshy pillock) Rule 236 driving in adverse weather conditions, this is the rule. You MUST NOT use front or rear fog lights unless visibility is seriously reduced (see rule 226) as they dazzle other road users and can obscure your brake lights. You MUST switch them off when visibility improves. And the law bit Law RVLR regs 25 & 27 Reg 27. No person shall use, or cause or permit to be used, on a road any vehicle on which any lamp, hazard warning signal device or warning beacon of a type specified in an item in column 2 of the Table below is used in a manner specified in that item in column 3: Front fog lamp (a) Used so as to cause undue dazzle or discomfort to other persons using the road. (b)Used so as to be lit at any time other than in conditions of seriously reduced visibility. ©Used so as to be lit when a vehicle is parked. Rear fog lamp (a) Used so as to cause undue dazzle or discomfort to the driver of a following vehicle. (b)Used so as to be lit at any time other than in conditions of seriously reduced visibility. © Save in the case of an emergency vehicle, used so as to be lit when a vehicle is parked." 8. Me and the good lady (as named driver) fully comp on my LS430, 10k miles per year, curtesy car, windscreen cover, legal cover. £292.24 from Admiral
  9. Every day for work and any pleasure trips, don't want to sit in any other car, as a driver or passenger unless it is a lexus of course
  10. I was told you turn on the ignition, engine not running, eject the old disc, insert the new disc, let it do it's thing and away you go. I'm guessing you know where the disc unit is on an ls430, if you don't then check this video from the 3 minute mark to see. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRUijFaXt7k
  11. Maybe a good idea would be to get 1 key done at the main dealer, then get yourself some blanks and hop off to a keycutter place for some spares to be done. I think with car keys you have to take the docs with you to show you are the keeper, correct me if i'm wrong anyone.
  12. If you have no actual metal working key at all, then a blank will be useless as you have nothing to copy. I had 3 fobs when i got my 430 and they all had a key hidden away in them, it seems very odd that yours are all missing. They don't fold into the fob on a 430, they slide in and out from behind a little clip, the little clip is at the other end of the fob that goes into the ignition, there is also a little slider button the pushes the key out when you move the holding clip. Look at this video, it shows you the clip at one end and also you can see the button slider to one side. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=11oqnQtnRQo
  13. I hope so, they did tell me that as it's nothing to do with me, i got the impression they are though.
  14. You can get MOT done with Halfords Auto centreif you book online and use the online discount offer. http://www.halfordsautocentres.com/ Click MOT and follow instructions
  15. Ok, update on this issue. Police lady rang me today and we had a nice chat. They had the reg of the car and went to the owners house, who promptly denied involved in an incident. He even had an excuse for the damage to his car saying he bumped a post in a supermarket. He is an elderly gent apparently, smart home in a smart area. So nice police lady said they had footage on cctv of him and his car at the garden centre and him and his wife looking at my car that they had hit. He then promptly said he wanted to speak to his legal advisor. His wife then burst into tears and admitted that they were indeed at the garden center and that they had hit a gold posh car as she called it, they panicked and left. To which he then agreed. He claimed he didn't see my car, how big is a Ls430 for you not to see it in daylight standing on it's own. So now i have a person to blame for this incident and an insurance claim to go with it, however he did say to the officer that he would pay for any repairs that needed doing, so i think i will allow lexus to do a full repair at no expense for his trouble. So happy days maybe, you think
  16. Already got one fitted for a year or so now. http://shop.roadhawk.co.uk/roadhawk-rh-2
  17. They are for the rear seat settings. Front seat settings are the same. Engine off ignition on. Adjust the seat to where you want it, press S and 1 together to program that seat setting to number 1, it will beep when done correctly, adjust the seat for your partner for example, press S and 2 together to set it to number 2, again it will beep. Now for a laugh, just press 1 and it will move the seat to setting 1, press 2 and it moves the seat to setting 2
  18. They came and took a statement and photos of the car, they agree that an offence of hit and run has taken place as long as it can be proved by cctv footage and not just by me saying it happened to make a claim, which i understand. They then went off to the garden centre to speak with said manager idiot, the officer rang me this morning and left a message as i was driving, there is evidence that a car did hit my car, as the driver got out of his car to look at the rear corner of his car and the front corner of my car, exactly where the damage is, she said you can see he moved extremely close to my car and was guided away from my car by a passenger in his car, she has a reg plate and will be following it up, she stated she will ring me back with more info when she has it. So not too bad at the moment. Lexus want 140 quid for the sensor and 6 quid for the holder. It seems like a not to difficult job to replace via the front wheel well behind the bumper i hope. Lets see where it goes from here.
  19. Have used them, not bad at all on a fiat punto grande, wife's car. Easy to use, but try to put them on for practice before you need to use them, just don't drive with them when you try them for practice. If you do need to use them for real, keep the speed a steady speed, no sharp inputs of steering or brakes and throttle, you should be ok
  20. Sorry for a start off, not a good way to start a post i know. Went to a garden centre earlier to get some supplies for my tropical aquarium. Parked away from the place so i had plenty of safety room. You guessed it, came back to the car and some *&^&%%%&£"!£$!*& had scraped the drivers front corner, the managed to smash the corner parking sensor, scrape the wing and the lower and upper part of the bumper where the all meet, cracked the fog light lens. So i went inside and asked politely if the had cctv on the car park, instead of saying yes or no the person went all defensive and stated you park at your own risk if you visit here, i never said anything regards parking. Anyway the manager came along and said they did and repeated the rule of own risk, i asked if he could view the cctv to establish what car had hit mine and if the number plate could be viewed, he said no as i could be trying to make a false claim against them. So i rang the police and reported it as a crash which really ****** him off, an officer is calling in later tonight to take a statement. So anyway, i need a paint job, new sensor and a bloody large port & brandy. Has anyone got a price on a sensor, and how easy are they to fit. And when i find the culprit, they will be getting a scraped front corner from a 40ton lorry, revenge will be mine sayeth the mad bald one.
  21. I stick LED on any motorbike i have owned, can't beat them, and any idiot that says they didn't see you is.... A - Blind B - Rediculously ignorant C - Doing make-up D - On mobile phone E and so on, ideas ??
  22. Ignorant morons they are, these are the same morons that cut in front of a lorry with inches to spare, especially when they near an exit ramp, then they have the cheek to blame truckers for holding them up, slap em in irons i say and deep heat their freshly shaved gonads as a lesson. As for the Lexie, they are effortless at any speed, you do have to watch it though, before you realise you can be doing a ton and not even notice. And the feeling of being safe as well, lets keep it our Lexus family secret.
  23. I went for one of those Lexus own brand magnetic round tax disc holders, lovely thing it is, neat and simple. You can put the tax disc anywhere you like as long as it's on display, iv's seen them in the boot window before now.
