  1. Think we must live in an LS hotspot John, also see an awful lot of RXs around. By the way, you recommended Justmot to me a couple of years ago, and very good they were too, but the gaffer was talking about getting a better offer when I got LS tested a year ago, and, sorry to say, they have gone now, replaced by a "family firm", so went elsewhere this year.
  2. Saw a blue LS400 this afternoon, crossing seaside road in Eastbourne, mrs V was driving ours, I was behind in my campervan, returning from an mot (don't ask!).
  3. Another vote here for regular updates, please.
  4. If you want to be waved at, buy a motor home, they even wave across six lanes of motorway! MGBs used to wave at each other too, which I used to find a bit embarrassing, if I'm honest.
  5. Ls 400s year 2000, W reg. Five of them currently on ebay. I've had LS 400 and 430 on ebay watch for the last five years, and year 2000 cars have been pretty rare listings, maybe we are coming to the end of the 400 being a common listing.
  6. I agree. If AT can do it, so could ebay, but, as you say, they don't care, hence the number of shysters operating on there. The Cat D thing could be next to nothing damage wise, or the chassis could be bent, or anything in between, but the killer is resale values, as your everyday punter is frightened off. Why they don't photograph the damage and repair process, to show future buyers the real situation, I don't know.......or maybe I do!!
  7. That pic also shows the height adjustment switch, by the way.
  8. I know there are a few looking for low mileage LS cars, so I thought I'd mention THIS one on ebay. It's Cat D, but the dealer hardly mentions it, which in my opinion is wrong, I think it should be in the heading. It's listed as 31,000 miles, but even so, £8995 seems strong for a Cat D.
  9. Auction ended now Steve, found it in completed listings. here
  10. Don't think you are wrong Steve, there is a height adjustment switch, near the gear selector and PWR/SNOW switch, so it has got air suspension, as have other JDM cars featured here before.
  11. If all else is fine with a car, don't let a flat battery put you off, they do run down quite quickly if not being used. Just make a new Toyota battery (£80 or so) a condition of sale. Interiors are very sturdy, and scrub up fairly easily, so excessive wear is a sign of a hard life. Sounds to me as if you did the right thing with this one.
  12. Just been looking on ebay, and I've never seen so many for sale on there. A couple looked decent too, might be worth a search.
  13. I've had the screenwash light on for a couple of years' then a month or so back, it went out, never to be seen since. I always keep the bottle topped up, but might let it run low, just to see if it comes on.
  14. So, when you said it'd be finished by Xmas...............?
  15. Yes, that's the shape I was looking at, the newer shape was only just starting to appear over here, and was big money at the time. Agreed on the Alphard, not as much of a looker as the Elgrand, but, like my long serving Hiace, pretty much bulletproof. Regarding LPG, I think you're wise to see the van is a good one, before splashing out on a conversion, that's exactly what I did with the LS. Anyway, hope it all goes well for you and look forward to some pics!
  16. Love them, I actually looked at these when I was considering my LS. I know some of the age I looked at had an LPG conversion, but I think your engine is, more or less, the same as the 350Z, so wonder whether LPG would still be an option? The Toyota Alphard is another nice van, often advertised as a Lexus like campervan, when converted.
  17. Regardless of any argument about handling, ride etc, being altered by low profile tyres, the massive disadvantage, for me, is the lack of protection from our appalling roads. Too easy to smash a wheel on a water filled pothole, and yes, I do speak from bitter experience!!
  18. So, if that were the case, what would the spare wheel be? I suspect you're getting confused with directional tyres, which should be mounted with the arrows pointing in the direction of forward rotation.
  19. Think we caught a glimpse of the N reg yesterday. Good luck in Hampshire!
  20. Yeah, much nicer looking wheels, and obviously no problem with fit. I believe the tyres are quite expensive though.
  21. Be careful if buying wheels for the MKIV, I was going to buy some 17" lexus is wheels, subject to trial fitting them on my 99 LS. Didn't fit, due to large front brake calipers, so my advise would be to try before you buy.
  22. Seem to recall you posted something about non owners, or morons, trolling your forum, maybe that didn't help? To jog your memory, I quote "Hi Peter - absolutely! You are an enthusiast who loves modifying his car. What has really p*ssed me off about this thread is that non-ISF owners have started trolling the rest of us on what is a 'domestic' discussion. I think there's something inherently sad about people making such comments in others model/marque forums. Let's not get brow-beaten by these morons! I know in the UK we have an open Lexus forum and I welcome that, I just don't stick my nose into other people's threads not relevant to me and wish others would do the same. "
