  1. It cannot be successfully 'touched up' , sanding down and respray is the only cure. It's most likely 'clear over base' finish.......
  2. Most likely the starter contacts, easy if the motor is accessible, not so easy if it's like the LS400. Contact kits available from Lexus or aftermarket
  3. As above, sometimes water runs down the windscreen pillar and round the tweeter cover
  4. Cheer up,a friend of mine recently paid £152 to have a bulb replaced on his Mercedes
  5. Other places to check are just under the outside mirrors where the fix to the body and behind the steel trim around the windows. This trim is held by welded studs which rust away and are not replaceable. The complete steel edge and window surround are all one piece and will cost a fortune. Try to get some Waxoyl or similar behind it. When they rust through the trim becomes loose and a poor solution is silicone sealant to try and stick it.
  6. Sadly for me the driver seat heater has never worked on my series 2. Removing the seat in an attempt to repair it failed as the element is inside the cushion and you cannot get at it. It appears you have to buy the seat, not very clever of Lexus. :megaangry:
  7. I bought a write off SLK, [panel damage] 2years ago and it's excellent for the electric roof hinges etc. All the places you cannot smear grease on in the usual way.
  8. Sounds like ball joints and suspension issues, there should be no knocks, investigate ball joints first then the rest of the suspension
  9. Also plenty of hi-fi bass speakers for speaker builders should be about.....
  10. Fit some neat daytime running lights, it might help the jaywalkers, sod the diesel, dirty little devils!
  11. As above, fix the power steering leak, often just an O ring. Service kits are available. Lcd display widely covered an LOC member can fix it. Bonnet struts on amazon £35. Make sure CD is correct side up, think opposite to normal player, can't remember for sure!
  12. Best warning sign I saw in a USA film....... NO TRESPASSING VIOLATORS WILL BE SHOT WOUNDED WILL BE SHOT AGAIN
  13. I did the starter job on my '94, parts of the engine are exposed where it is easy to drop something in there. If it was quiet before..........what do you think.......
  14. It's a slow job but as previous posts say that is way too much Good 'indie' is the way to go As stated it is 99% sure to be the contacts.
  15. I've my '94 ls for about 8 years, it has a non Lexus screen, never had a problem.
  16. According to the manual code 22 = 1 open circuit in airbag warning system------- [the light will not light if open circuit] 2 centre airbag sensor assembly malfunction ---------- [centre airbag is the steering wheel one] There are pages of info ,too much to post, Beware when testing not to trigger anything that sets the airbag off! the method to extiguish it shown in Lexls does not always work first time, try it a few times to get the sequence correct. This clears code 41, which is supposed to clear all codes If it worked OK before check all connections again, airbag wiring is usually yellow
  17. did you try the tutorial on www.lexls.com.com Listed under lighting, how to turn the airbag light off?
  18. Was everything switched off when you changed the battery? Did you connect it the right way round first attempt?
  19. Before you bin it, check trans for correct fluid level. Check what is hot and smelling , brakes binding?,hand brake not releasing properly?etc. Check usual service levels, all fluids ,pads etc for binding, don't rely on the MOT! Have a good look round, you might rescue it!
