  1. My pride and joy has just rolled over the 100000 mile mark (and still going strong) and I wondered how many more out there have reached the milestone? Probably a few ISFs but any RCFs or GSFs Any drivers done 100k F miles themselves?
  2. Agreed. Something wrong as moisture shouldn't be getting in. Kids not closing the rear windows fully has been my problem in he past. If it's not a window then it needs looking at by the dealer if a door seal has gone. Did you buy from a dealer or have a warranty ?
  3. I might go but will leave the decision to nearer the time. The museum is a great place if anyone hasnt been and worth a second visit maybe but would like to see it free to just park up. That in itself is an attraction the museum use as a feature so disappointing they dont offer it.
  4. Yep. Fair point but I guess this depends on the integrity and skill level of said scum bag who nick's it. Professionaly stolen to ship abroad as an asset it's just moved somewhere to see if the police turn up. I would have that back as I have lavished love and attention on the old girl and spent ages cleaning the inside of the fuel filler cap for heavens sake. 🤣 And who's to say he most irresponsible guy to get to drive my car is me. 🤣 Recovered from a ditch and full of KFC crap well that's a different matter as that might be hard to love again.
  5. 52 when I bought my ISF. 15 months in now and my problem is I dont use it enough with the use of a daily driver, the wifes car, a Motorhome, and a 2 seater buggy. First world problems hey. My first V8 was a TVR Chimera when I was in my late 20's. I recon there might still be enough time in my driving career for one or 2 more V8's before eco warriors call time on the fun.
  6. Sad to see it's not recovered yet and sympathies to the owner but there is lot an owner can do to be as protected as poss. Keys in a faraday pouch and not in plain sight for one. Stoplocks work as a deterrent as long as you dont keep the keys with your keys!!!. And for such a prized position why no tracker ? A friend of mine just fitted an Autowatch Ghost system on his Golf R and that looks like it makes it theft proof. Its halved his insurance and will pay for itself in the time he has the car. Considering it next on my list. I'm not one for challenging the tooled up scum bags should the worst happen but will let the police quickly follow the tracker to where they take it.
  7. Wasnt @NothernDan selling his after fitting his air ride set up??
  8. I test drove a red 2011 ISF and can confirm it was fast so @Womble72 must be right. 🤣 It was in shabby condition so I kept looking and in the end i bought a white 2009 ISF because despite higher mileage it was a much better car. Do I miss all the things it doesn't have? No. And now I know its 0.2s quicker AND the best colour... WHITE whats not to like.😉
  9. Good spot on the wheels. It's not a great photo but I think your right. When I had my wheels refurbed they they put the fronts back on the wrong corner. The look on the guys face when I pointed out he need to swap the tyres and wheels around. 🤣
  10. Hi. You would hope that being owned by the dealers family it's well looked after but as they say the onus is you as the buyer. The only rust I have ever seen on an ISF is on the inner edge of the rear wheel arch where the inner and outer wings are welded together. Oh and check the rear brake lines where they go after the flexi from the brake caliper. It goes from there all the way to the front bulkhead in one go and is expensive to replace. Any sign of corrosion get them to replace at their cost as it's a 4 figure bill. (Had to have mine done and my ISF is 2009). But most of all enjoy ride. It's awesome.
  11. Yes they look good and an easy fit I gather. I never got round to getting a set but I think they would look great with my white paint and black badging.
  12. How do you guys rate this as an event vrs LeMans. For me LeMans is a great race but it's much more than the race.
  13. I think very few original owners of any colour added a sun roof. Or moon roof as Lexus call it. Whilst I would choose one, I would buy a car with one rather than without one if there we two to choose from, but do I ever use the sun roof in my daily driver? No. Do I notice my ISF doesn't have a sunroof? No. Personal choice but a few months driving an ISF without a sunroof is more fun than looking for one with.
  14. I'm in. I was gutted to miss the Derby meet last time especially seeing as I'm from Derby. Happy to research venues locally.
  15. I replaced my pads in the summer. Its an easy DIY job if you have any mechanical know how or interest. You should be able to just clean the anti squeal shims and replace with a smidge of copper grease but I did have just one seized retaining pin. The last one. Typical. It took some persuading out which was a pain and needed replacing as I bent it. That's where the "fitting kit" comes in and it has 2 pins and an anti squeal shim and is typically over priced from Lexus. I have 1 new shiny pin and the squeal shim left if anyone wants it.
  16. The one at Nippon auto breakers was the ex humberside police car so not sure any of the mechanical parts that might wear are what you want? 🤔. I'm local @NothernDan if you want me to see if they still have it.
  17. This has made me laugh again Dan and wonder how long have you been waiting for this to come round. An interesting insight into your mind maybe🤣
  18. I'm nearly there at 99300 on my 09 ISF so wont be long. Relatively low mileage and still going strong.
  19. Well he makes that look simple enough. Could be frustrating he sums up! You bet! Nice bit of fabrication though and clearly going to be an improvement on exhaust flow. Maybe not a job for this weekend
  20. Yep, I test drove this one 13 months ago and it had been with Arnold Clarke in Stoke for a good while then. The problem started when their buyer bought it in for far too much money and way above what its was worth with the paint needing so much attention. The previous owner got a right result. The money over its value from the start must be following it around in the trade and nobody wants to give up on their %. Is it that the dealers can get away with selling a tatty Audi or Ford but underestimate the niche an ISF sits in or how discerning buyers are? Are they that daft ? That said at what price does it become a good buy for someone because it does drive well and given Lexus told me they would offer a warranty I recon at £20k its a bargain. (which is about what I offered Arnold Clark last year and they were having none of it ).
  21. Yep, I popped by the dealer on Sunday as I live local (any excuse for a blast on a Sunday afternoon) and its still for sale. For some reason the sale to @ctrsam didn't go through. Not sure why? From what I can see the car looks honest enough and the sales man was honest with me. He rightly assumed I wasn't a buyer as he heard / saw me turn up in my ISF but took the time to show me the car so fair enough. So what's it like? Its had both the rear arches pained as I understand the rust was starting to show through on the inside welded edge and the bonnet front edge if not the whole bonnet painted as well due to stone chips / rusting. Not unsurprising or uncommon on a 2008 car maybe? The rest of the paint wasn't brilliant and for me would want some more work (chips on the leading edge of a couple of doors (mainly passenger ! Ahhh passengers !!) and others that might polish out but it would be OK for many Im sure. It started and sounded fine, has an aftermarket exhaust ( I couldn't see which make) with twin outlets that nearly poke into the exhaust tips. Interestingly I think my stock exhaust sounds better but that not very scientific is it. Interior looked good with just drivers seat wear is would be the case with apparently 64k miles. All told unless there are any hidden secrets it looks well priced for an ISF with a dealer. Oh, and it has a sunroof if that's your thing.
  22. I have updated my 2009 ISF with the latest disk but it only updates the maps and not the postcode search / operating functionality. Its the only thing that annoys me about all Lexus of a certain. Its the same in my IS300. Love both cars but just hate both crappy sat navs. I use google on the phone instead.
  23. Oh, and check your rear brake lines for corrosion just behind the flexi from the calliper. Somewhat of a saga to replace fully if it needs doing and its a pricey job.
