  1. Thats the advice given in the accompanying instruction sheets Steve. Also supplied are cleansing sticks to prep the area. Pity they didn't supply description stickers for the buttons on a clear background. Will work something ou,t and will put up a photo when fitted. May not be until May as busy and South of France next month. Stretch her legs.
  2. Well my little bit of frivolous expense has arrived for my 1993 Car. Looks very nice but I haven't had a chance to check it all out. You do lose the descriptions under the buttons and so will need to get those made up somewhere else or use alphabet kits if you can't recall exactly what is what. Looks nice and sticking loosely to backing greaseproof (or something) Guessing I'd better fix it on sooner rather than later so the sticky doesn't dry out. Cost £92.13 to import and add £21.98 excise duty (VAT).
  3. Our Art Master quite a nice old Gent really, liked the hands on approach and took you by the nose and slapped your face. Rather painful but no doubt deserved. NB: I use the word "Master" as I won't be bowed by political correctness. Read George Macdonald Frasers comments for my sentiments on our Country today. He must be turning in his grave asking what was the point of winning the War to give away our freedom to the Crusade. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-506219/The-testament-Flashmans-creator-How-Britain-destroyed-itself.html
  4. That not the example on ebay that Alfred is looking at buying. No Fog lamp slots. I had a senior moment when I suggested I email a photo of my car to Alfred as he has his own car to check for similarity - Doh! Sorry if my intervention has been thought of as some form of selling or caused offence. . Shall I hold my handout for the ruler, or is it a Snitcher that I will get for my wayward conduct? Ah those were the days, and in later life meeting those who warmed themselves up using a slipper on my backside, not only did I enjoy meeting them again but still have fond memories of being taught how to behave - and in my case it was an uphill struggle for them.
  5. I'm not selling anything Lexus and have no interest but to help the guy decide if its a suitable bumper. Original Q. Need to click on my image and pm (personal mail) me, rather than putting your email to open view.
  6. Having looked again at the ebay item I think it will fit models K,L, & M. If you want to pm me your email address I'll send you a photo of my K reg and you can decide. Two middle strips and two fog lights meeting them. I've used all my space on here for for images. Regards Stuart Please don't make this into a selling thread.
  7. Forget the above link as i found the phone number and the guy said both Cars have gone.
  8. These people may have a front bumper. Unfortunately I've lost the guys mobile number. I can't recall if it was on the early Car when I got some parts from them.. He had two models one being a 1995. The earlier was Smoke silver colour. http://www.postcodesuk.co.uk/CM/CM7/CM7%205DS/Jap+4x4,+Unit+1,+Munchmores+Farm,+Blake+End+Road,+Great+Saling,+BRAINTREE/
  9. This may be available? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lexus-Ls400-Breaking-Only-/182058095548?hash=item2a638213bc:g:j0QAAOxy3yNTh2A1
  10. This is the part I was referring to Brian - where Lexus may have missed a trick in not with slight alteration making it robust and useful as a choc. There are of course two in the boot. But then, they don't exactly want to point out to buyers you may need to get your hands dirty to change wheel, I suppose. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1994-LEXUS-LS400-PLASTIC-COVER-FOR-INSIDE-SPARE-WHEEL-WELL-/131388524427?hash=item1e975dc78b:g:zTgAAOSwwTlUnZzZ
  11. Noted that same seller has another kit for sale - FOR EARLY MODELS. Not yet received my kit but will comment when seen, as to quality etc. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lexus-LS-400-RHD-90-91-92-93-94-dashboard-trim-kit-wood-aluminum-carbon-fiber-/281960353917?hash=item41a625907d:g:geUAAOSwt6ZWV-Tm
  12. I'd remove that nasty looking Steering Wheel cover and only if necessary buy one of those faux leatherl/wood covers. The Aircon is the main concern about this car and perhaps if you are not a fan of White. Being on LPG is a bonus when Petrol prices rise, as they will. Because the year of the Car is pre Cat it may not have the troublesome Y pipe and Cat flange degradation that later Cars suffer? MOT Pass - no advisories. Seller and has spent as much as I've had to spend on my Car to get it to the state I want.
  13. Interesting early model. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LEXUS-LS-400-V8-LPG-FITTED-/201537581670?hash=item2eec937266:g:jncAAOSwr7ZW3wjh
  14. I did toy with using Carbon fibre stick on, but as with the Kit I'll have to wait to discover how the button inscriptions will still be seen.
  15. I'll have to re-check that site Malc, as didn't see the European breakdown cover bit.
  16. Congratulations - envious. Perhaps this year I'll get a straight through pass/
  17. I'll certainly take a photo of the Kit spread out and let you know my verdict. I'm not planning on fitting it until Summer weather as from what I've read you need to heat up the glue (hair dryer) after prepping the surfaces with isopropyl or something similar (which is provided) to get max adhesion.Too much moisture in air at this time of the year. .
  18. Loyalty just doesn't pay. Awaiting renewal shortly from one Broker mentioned here which will be around £460 but got a quote from Saga for £269 for 10k miles, Comp with Excess £350 so likely to get my business. Was very happy with Silver knight European and UK breakdown cover for just under £100 arranged viaith Broker. Not sure if I will find an alternative as cover has expired. Anyone else got a company they can recommend? Europe only.
  19. postcript I just had a look and it may be I got the only one available for my year car. Here is the link but I haven't seen in his "other items" an LS400. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lexus-LS-400-RHD-90-91-92-93-94-dashboard-trim-kit-wood-aluminum-carbon-fiber-/281892393058?hash=item41a2189062:g:geUAAOSwt6ZWV-Tm&vxp=mtr
  20. I've agreed to the Shipping price of $57 as he can't do it for $35. He must have thought I was domestic. Anyway, I've ordered a kit with the style "Medium Burr" as I think its the nearest to the existing. A bit of fun embellishment. Wouldn't have bothered if I'd had a dark grey Dashboard as I don't think it makes much difference but against the Cream, it should look nice. Will let all know what it looks like when arrived. Doubt I'll install it until less moisture in the air so don't wait for a picy.
  21. Ha ha ha! No Brian, even I wouldn't suggest a polystyrene choc. The part I am referring to is outside the wheel well and is made of plastic abutting the rear panel of the car. It matches the height of the wheel in the Well so that the Floor lays flat. Maybe it was only on earlier cars. Sorry I don't have a picture.
  22. I've often wondered if the Plastic Right angle /curved shape block in line with the rear of the boot and the boot well was designed to be used as a Choc in the event you needed to jack the car up? It does pull out. May not be particularly strong, but plastic ones are for sale.
  23. I believe Timing belts vary by one tooth for different models. I recall counting the teeth at my Mechanics workshop to be sure Lexus sent me the right belt, as it came without any packaging.
  24. A very common expression for a serious problem if not fixed. Check this link for further information. http://everything2.com/title/Pinking
  25. Did you change the CD's and put them in upsidedown? Just a thought.
